I recently upgraded to windows 7 which I reall like but have a quick question.

I used to to have windows mail or something and had an email account set up on the computer. I have since started using that email account online and not through windows mail. Windows 7 does not come with an email program but when I installed 7 it took those settings and put them somewhere that I can not find. Now everytime I start my computer I get a message that says "There is no email program associated with windows 7".

So, What I need to know is where do I find those email settings to remove them so I do NOT get the message any more??

Thanks

Take a look in Control Panel >>> Mail

It's Windows Live Mail

easy way to get to it:
click on the Windows Button
in the search box just type mail

In the results, the first one, Windows Live Mail is what you are looking for.

what else do you have on the computer? Do you have a copy of Office with Outlook too?

we have Win7 on our home computer with Office 2007 without Outlook and have not ever seen this.

have you tried:
Go to:
Control Panel\Programs\Default Programs\Set Default Programs (this is the top choice)
Select Windows Live Mail
Then select, Set this program as default

Looks like you can also go to:
Control Panel\Programs\Default Programs\Set Default Programs
Then click on Set program access and computer defaults
Then pick Custom
Then click the down arrows on the right
You should then see the option for mail.
