Ok, since Murray has a super long thread on here I kinda got jealous and thought I would try to start one too. Actually I thought about this today and got home only to see this long Murray thread. Anyways, I'll get to the point. I don't know if any of you have picked up on it, but our last two ads were mocks of album covers. The first one was Queen, and the second N'SYNC. Our plan was have an actual theme for all of our ads this year and do all album covers. As usual, we have an ad due really soon and have not shot it or come up with the album cover we want to use. So I figured I would go to the faithful group here at WakeWorld and ask for suggestions. It can be ANYTHING. Really, ANYTHING. It can be from 1 to 5 guys. It really doesn't matter. Just something that people may actually pick up on. Thanks in advance!

Reservoir Dogs- Have a Mr. Pink, Mr. White..Orange..Brown etc. Pretty much everyone would get that.. and it'd be pretty rad. There are a few other good posters, but you could do something like this:

I've got a scrumtrulescent idea, but I'm going to save it for when you start advertising on WakeWorld! Actually, I think you and Shaun doing the Wham cover would kick ass. Change the title to "Wake Make It Big."

We have talked about doing Abbey Road and actually that Nirvana cover. Rattray said he would be willing to be the naked baby. We have a perfect tree for that Jackson 5 cover, but it would be pretty hard to find those suits on short notice. I think we may want to stay away from the Village People or Wham. I mean we have already done Queen and NSYNC. I don't want people to get the wrong idea...not that there's anything wrong with that. But, you know what I mean. Thanks for the input and keep em' coming!

Do the Red Hot Chili Pepper's version of the Abbey Road album cover I don't think the mods would appreciate me showing it here but go look it up.

I think the Devo album cover would be awesome and it has five guys on the cover. I was originally thinking of the Poison album where they are all glammed out but I hate that bad so much that I think Devo is better and more funny.

Inside the Red Hot Chili Peppers "One Hot Minute" album the band went to Walmart photo center and dressed up like a family. Man wife brother sister. They took really gay family photos and used it as the album art work. Just an idea and would be really fun to do.

How about U2, but change the title up to something like, How to Learn a Nuclear Grab (weak, I know). Or, Linkin Park, but have the guys standing there holding their boards. Or, Foo Fighters, use TBS as the tattoo. You could have a slight profile so we could tell it was Shaun.

Not an album cover, but what about doing something with the Robert Palmer's "Addicted to love" video. (Message edited by sandman59 on March 11, 2008)

I guess it would help if we knew the major target audience for the ads. I assume that the majority of 'campers' are 14-20 (maybe falsely). For them, the very recognizable Europe cover Andy posted probably is a relic, something that they maybe saw once in a used CD shop and blazed past.

I dont see how you CANT go with Wham or the beatles. this one is pretty recognizable, but perhaps not by the people you are trying to attract. plus, it only really has one person in it. change the text to say: The Boarding School. Orlando Calling. I know, lame. good luck.

sounds like you want a group, not a single person. but, its tough to get the "king of pop" out of your head, although you guys used it last time. I see the MurDawg in all white with a perm... chillin on the transom pad with lake in the back, maybe a board behind him. somebody photochop that shiz. also like: garage ink, abbey road, nevermind.

Kanye Wests albums would be really noticeable to most kids of this era. Something like this maybe with the shot of one of you holding a board with vest and shorts on looking out the door of the school with the lake/boat in the background. (dont know what you place looks like but im sure you could make it work)...

Motley Crue is good but if you're going that route I still think ManOWar is the clear winner! It's just beyond 80's hair and makeup!
