I purchased a new JL1000.1 to power my sub which is replacing my weak alpine amp and now after a few days of sitting, my 3 optimas are draining down. How can a amp which appears to be in the off mode keep draining my batteries? The head unit is totally out and no indicator lights are on from any of the other amps. Never had this issue before installing the new amp. Any advise would be much appreciated.

BTW, I did add another blue top at the same time but that is the only other change.

New battery might have a bad cell
that could throw the whole charging system for a loop

I pulled the fuse from the new amp so tomorrow I should be able to eliminate if thats the problem. The new battery does read fully charged on a smart charger.

Batteries kept a charge last night with out the amp hooked up. What's my next step at the amp side?

JTW, I had the exact same thing happening on a jl 500/1. That was another reason I used circuit breakers in my last system. I would just pop the breaker everytime I put the boat up. It became a habit. I always theroized it had to do with a malfunction in the JL's signal sensing turn on function.
