My wakeboard has molded fins that were damaged when hit with a slider. The front of the fins were chipped off. I know they can be repaired with 2 part epoxy but was wondering if anyone has any advice shaping the fin. Is there any shortcut of making the fin right the first time and then sanding. Or just time and patience of sanding. Also does sanding ruin the integrity of the board? Do I need to put some sort of finish on it?

I have done the same thing on sliders with my 03 byerly. I put epoxy on the damaged area then wrap packing tape over the epoxy. When it dries it is already very close to the final shape and minimal sanding is nessary.

Thanks for the tips. Didn't think about the packing tape. I assume the tape doesn't stick to the epoxy?
