Well the Sport Star was introduced when MasterCraft redesigned the Prostar 190's hull. MC wanted to keep the old Prostar hull so they made the Sport Star/19 Skier. Its a bare bones SKI boat. There's no bells and whistles on them like a regular Prostar would have. It was marketed as an economy boat, so you didn't have to drop a lot of cash to get the way more expensive Prostar.

With all that being said, with enough fat sacks, it could throw a decent wake. A friend of mine has a 96 Prostar 190 (the same hull as the Sport Star) and he puts two 750#'s on each side of the engine plus some weight in the bow and the wake is great. Seating is limited though with the boat being a closed-bow. But if thats not a concern then it would be a great boat.

Here is another one. The one you speak of is priced aggresive. That boat SOLD in 1998 for $19995 w/o trailer. 265 HP 5.0 litre motor 305. This one has the 310 TBI Looks like it is in descent shape.

i don't see the difference between a regualr 190 and this particular boat... Bells and whistles?? They didn't offer "bells and whistles then.. Hull, motor, radio and gauges.. To me it is one heck of a deal, no matter how you look at it... Only thing to add would be perfect pass...
