Last time I took my boat out the stereo played for two minutes or so then quite? I have a Kenwood CD player am/fm with a detachable faceplate, I took off the faceplate and there is a weird noise coming from the speakers from time to time? It’s kind of a hum and static sound. I went to the back of the stereo and checked the fuse, just one #10,it looked fine? I have no power at all to the stereo with the fuse in. All of the other electrical in the boat works just fine.

Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the reply. How would I go about finding a bad ground? Check the stereo wire harness to were it connects to the main power supply? Or?

I'd check the harness with a 12 volt tester (light with a probe and aligator clip), not sure what they call it You can buy them real cheap at any auto parts store

Or just rewire the ground. It sounds like the ground wire to the stereo might have came loose.

Jeff,
Thanks. Where on the harness do you attach the 12 volt tester? On the outside of each wire?
