220 nautique is a great boat. You should find out how people are adding weight to the boat to get a better wake.

There is no such thing as the "best boat around" It comes down to a personal choice. You need to test drive a few and determine which one best suits your needs.

there is no way to determine the best wake boat... but my Tomcat's wake did not wash easily at all and with full ballast and a boat full of people the wake was legit.

I am pretty sure the consensus though is that the X-Star, 230, VLX, and Epic would be others commonly included in the running for best wake boat. Personally I htink the Widebody has an amazing stock wake but i'm sure there are owners goggles too :-)

the boat that I own.

I like lots of other boats but I don't have boat envy.

why not keep your 08 and make it work.. just weight it so that there is no wash..

I believe the consensus before was that a 70's era tri-hull with a wooden tower was the ultimate wake machine.

Either that or that one kid's SeaRay.

The best boat is whatever you can get behind.

Best wake I have ever ridden is behind a Cobalt 226 with about 2200 pounds of ballast.

Of course it is the only boat I have ridden behind so my experience may appear limited.

Boat is paid in full as well, which makes it even better.

issac thats the thing my buddy has the same boat you literally cant get a rekiable and clean wake out of it. We have tried 20 ways to weight it all no go. Pus unless you like riding at 25-26 mph dont even try to ride behind it. My boys teen kids wont ride nor his girl or mine wake isnt very solid.

For a good size boat with a clean wake get a sanger or Malibu. My vlx is clean at 18 mph on up and isnt weight sensetive at all.

This maroon and white rig put out a sweet wake! You could only surf it though, Trying to wakeboard behind it was sort of weird...

I rode in a 220 just once but the boat had the most touchy wake I've ever experienced. Literally, if you moved your arm the wake would wash out on one side. This was a pro's boat. I'm sure he has a 230 now. But, for sure, I could only imagine how frustrating it would be to own a boat that was so sensitive to lateral distribution of weight.

Ok, everyone whip them out, it's another "Who's got the bigger #*!^" thread!

The 230 is the best boat on the market right now. If you have the cash and want an insane wake that is pretty easy to get right, you can't go wrong.

Also, if your engineering firm needs and accountant I'm in... if you can afford a CC 230 at the age of 29 I want in on that action ;)

CC 230
Xstar (lots of weight needed)
VLX (people love them, I don't so much)
Epic (wake machine, its sole purpose)

Stay away from Epic. NEw company let them prove themselves. They steer like as tank because they are a tank. I would go with a Ranger. Sweet wake with all fish tanks full.

didn't you pimp out your 220 with Wetsounds and a huge system? Are you going to pull all that off or sell it with it?

+1 to what Feasel said. Ranger gets you to the spot the fastest, fill up the live well and BAM, Skittles.

Jack, what the hell are you talking about? Epic's have a sweet wake. Yes they have (like nautiques) have a sensitive side to side roll but the wake is out of control.

Malibu XLX, LSV = most stable, especially with power wedge & shapeable

Supra 24 = great mix of steepness and stable when weighted right, very shapeable on the fly with the plate.

Xstar = great wake with tons of ballast, not a great stock wake

230 = ??

CSX rocks. If you haven't been in one and/or behind one, it will blow your mind!

i might sell it with the system if someone wants to pay a little more with it if not i might leave a pair of 485s and the 6 6 1/2 xs 650 minus the light rings and ill put a jl 10w3 sub in it with a amps it will have a little bit of a system in it and it will have some of the blue lights in it and the swimdeck and underwater lights heres a link to http://earmarkcaraudio.com/install_superAirNautique.asp

Jack- Epic steering like A TANK? I admit it is a TANK in the water, but the Epic's handling and steering KILLS our '05 Supra 21v and ALOT of other boats I have driven. NO not as smooth as the VLX or a 230 steering and smoothness wise, but pretty damn precise, especially when loaded with ballast and peeps. Also, hands down easiest boat I've driven to load onto a trailer and back up.

Have you actually driven an Epic?

Barking up the WRONG tree if you are going to diss an Epic's steering and handling. Epic might have some short-comings in people's opinion (including me) but steering is NOT one of them, at least to go as far as it handles like a tank in the water???...If an Epic handles like a tank in your opinion, I'd hate to see what you think about a lot of other v-drives out there.
