Inland Surfer Demo

Back, what 2 weeks ago now, I was fortunate enough to do a quick clinic at the Moomba Jamboree. As part of that, Inland Surfer was kind enough to provide a board for teaching.

The blue room was the board of choice, it allowed me to teach folks that had never wakesurfed before how to free ride behind a boat.

The boat we used was a Moomba Outback, without a tower and only about 1,000 pounds of ballast. The location, Lake Louisa has an average depth of 8 feet. Typically not considered to be the best of conditions.

As you can see from the attached pictures, newbies and experienced folks alike could ride the Blue Room pretty easily.

The 3.25" Future Side Bites allowed the board to be broken loose, but only when you wanted it to happen, so less agressive riders found the board stable and easy to ride.

Many PROPS to Inland for the board for the clinic and for being such a large part of the success of that event.

Oh and check the color of the water! Only in Florida. :-)

Hey, that water is not nasty!

It is actually pretty pure. It gets filtered thru the Green Swamp and it gets its' dark color from tannic acid from cypress trees. Majority of the trees you see in the background are cypress.

Water temp was 85 degrees that day.

Yes, there are many gators. Florida riders are good cause if they fall, you never see them again untill their knawed up bones float to shore.

Oh well, some folks have brown air - we have brown water.

John boy, Ed G keeps telling everyone: "the water is FINE! Shut up and get in the water!" :-)

It looks like coffee doesn't it? I made the mistake of going under about 6 inches and opening my eyes...completely black, NO sunlight made it down that far!!!!!

Color of water is relative to where the water originates.

Clermont chain of lakes are fed primarily from surface water sources.

If it comes from the aquafer, then it is crystal clear.

The Butler Chain of lakes, which is only about 20 miles from the Clermont chain has perfectly clear water at a depth of 8 feet.

They hate clear water.

They can't sneak up on you, snatch you and drag you into their underwater den to rot.

Once you rot, they can easily tear off your arms and legs.

Legend is if you throw a bottle of hot sauce into the Clermont chain and it sinks, you'll soon hear burping.
