Has this trick been done before? Not an S-bend. I mean like a 313 doing the 360 on the way down.

While we are talking about raleys though, how many people can and do a double S-bend??
Old    teunz0r            01-07-2008, 9:53 AM Reply
Isn't that just an 313? Because you will always go down when you are ending your raley..

a lot of people do blind 313s on the cable but it is a very tech trick and double sbends are even more common...behind the boat is a different story however. To do a double S behind the boat takes some serious stones. I think Shannon Best used to do them but other than that, the only person i could see being willing to try a double behind the boat would be someone like Rob Mapp

i also saw a vid of a tsr kid doing a double behind the boat but i dont remember the name

a blind judge has to be the scariest trick in wakeboarding, anyone who attempts one has GIANT MARBELS

Rob Mapp was doing them at least 5 years back and I'm sure he still can.

Kyle-

How about Colin Ryans Hoochie to Blind? Its in this video at the 1:06 minute mark. I have been trying to get him to go to blind 360 but everytime I give crap about it he is like "you do it if you wanna see somebody try it so bad" that usually shuts me right up.

yeah i saw that vid!!! such a sick trick, hoochies are fun but i think i will stick with not taking them to blind, although i did try one off a kicker once and just butt checked

kyle, raley to blinds really aren't that bad. I guess it can be a little daunting to try, but 9 times out of 10 when you fall trying them you usually fall forward onto your face rather than catch a back edge like you would think. So the falls really aren't that bad.

Yeah, but it's that 10th time that keeps you from ever doing them again!

We need some video of the claims! Who has it? Some one post it up! If it has been done some one should have video of it!

a blind 313? I'll post one when I get home...it's on a cable though.

Chris,

was Rob Mapp doing double s-bends or blind 313´s?

I guess this means the trick doesn´t have a name if everyone is just calling them blind 313´s.
Old     (andy_nintzel)      Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: Minnesnowda       01-08-2008, 9:38 AM Reply
Blind 313 behind the boat thats what I wanna see. The physics on the cable are little different behind the boat. I have seen a few people try a blind 313 and the get totally hung up on the last one 180, then get in the boat done for the day.
Old     (bendow)      Join Date: Sep 2005       01-08-2008, 10:04 AM Reply
I don't know if anyone has even done one of those behind the boat. There are a lot of tricks that people do on cables that I don't think are possible on a boat.

Mapp does double -s' and double s to blind along with many other people. Double s bends are much different than a blind 313. There is no handle pass in a double s bend and there is one in a blind 313. A blind 313 is pretty much a raley to blind with another 180

Robb did it in his run at nationals awhile back. It was being the boat at owc and he was riding the iconn best board at the time. Andy it was a blind 313 for sure. He also was doing shapiro style tantrum to blinds waay into the flats.

For sure Andy! How about a frontflip backside 3? I think I remember Murray doing a switch one awhile back off the dub in a comp on tv.

Yeah I think I saw that Front back 3.

I always wanted to see a crew go out with a laudry list of super hard azz tricks, blind Slim, blind 313, double s-bends, all sort of Gnar, and just try and stick em'. Put it down on Video make a contest out of it whatever.

Ryan-

It was Stephan Tranne that did double S-Bends behind the boat. I remember he was in WBM (on the cover I think) many years ago. Andy Owings also was nuts, like you mentioned... haven't heard much about them in awhile!

On another note, didn't know you lived in Hanalei! I was in Haena for a week over Christmas and New Years, grabbed coffee every morning in Hanalei.

Andy-If you happen to come across a video called Type ADD Mark Kenny does and air blind slim. It's a really great section I would get a copy of the video solely for that section.

Water-I know it doesn't seem like it, but that is a 2 handed whirly bird aka "the swirly".

Has anyone ever heard of a rider other than shapiro doing an iron cross? It is the craziest looking trick i have ever seen!

Pretty sure Adkinson does it(raley with late b/s 360)in his section of push process?

I have seen push process I think that Adkinson does a Late 313, I will call him and ask him today to settle the debat.

ORBITALS! Shapiros Orbitals are the pimp shizzz. I tried a couple a few years back, it seems almost impossible

Chris, what vid is that in? What does the iron cross look like?

Old     (lfxstar)      Join Date: Jul 2001       01-10-2008, 7:13 AM Reply
kind of, you spin around the rope...basically i went to do the kgb and didnt pass the handle and just spun around the rope and ended up landing on my board and my friends couldn't believe it, but i tried it again and again and couldnt do it

Ben-

No an orbital is a backside 3 or 5 that goes over the rode instead of passing the handle, super tech.

Orbital: An over the line, inverted, backside 360 - Invented by Darin Shapiro.

Orbital 540: An over the line, inverted, backside 540 - Invented by Darin Shapiro

Iron cross is a wrapped moby dick and shapiro would do it laid out. I think a wrapped mute moby dick would look good..

Hey Andy, the one Dustin does in Almost Famous looks like more of a two handed whirly?
Old     (andy_nintzel)      Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: Minnesnowda       01-10-2008, 9:34 AM Reply
yeah Gordie it is a 2 handed whirly, or a "the swirly"

Andy your right it is an over the line bs 5. The take off and rotation are very similar to a mexi roll to blind. Kind of surprised more people dont do it. I must say that shapiro did them super legit (like everything he does) and you never saw him do it empty handed, always had a grab . Havent seen this trick recently though .

Andy- have you ever seen just an orbital 360? im trying to think where i may have. If anyone knows or has info let me know
