we are going there tomorrow for a short vacation. is there anyone in the area that provide me with some riding spots? what about overnite storage for boats on the water? we are taking the boat down there and staying at a casino.

we are thinking of hitting lake mojave and/or going down the river...not sure on the river..rocks? shallow?

any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure where you can dock. I'd probably just pull it if I were you. I also do not recommend riding on the river.. it is pretty shallow. Mojave isn't bad when the wind isn't blowing.. which isn't very often from my experience. Laughlin is awesome though for gambling... at least if you like the low stakes.

action is right, the wind blows alot at Mohave creating CHOP. However, early morning and late eventing are nice to butter like conditions. You can rent a slip at Katherine's Landing which is only about 10 minutes north of Laughlin. They do the slips on a first come first served basis, so if you get up there before the weekend begins you should be ok. Mohave is long and very DEEP.

Personally I'm not familiar with the river there at Laughlin, though you do see alot of PWCs.

i live in las vegas....we are going to laughlin on a short vacation and to try some new waters...

sounds like we might launch out of cottonwood cove or go to havasu

either way...sounds like about 30 mins either way to get some good water and be safe..

When I went to Laughlin, We stayed in the casino's, They had a secured parking lot for RV's and Boats. We had no problems. The parking lot could not be accessed unless you were staying at the casino. There were lots of other boats there as wel

Whats up Mid. When are we going to hook up? Call the Casino you are staying at. Some have Security in the Parking Lot. The river flows quick in that area. Might be a little tough getting used to. The water is clear like Lake Tahoe so it looks shallow which can be unnerving. Launch a Katherines early in the morning, come back to your room and nap. Wake up and Party all night. Do it all over the next day!

I went on vacation last easter out of Echo. The wives were complaning that all the beachs were covered in weeds. I said no problem. I had brought my flat shovel and cleared the whole beach and made grand stand seats/stairs where the 3' high cliff was at the water level. My friends thouht I was a madman. It justs takes me a couple of days to wynd down to enjoy! Have fun. Call me when you get back.

Not sure if you will see this before you go, the water level is very high at the lake (most of the beaches are gone)
After you leave the dock, I like to go to the left. I find the water next to the dam the best.
Try to get out early. Around 11am the wind will pick and it get hard to board.
After 7pm the water gets real nice. If you can get a slip, it will run you $10 each night.
Have fun
