This year is the third year for the Spring 2 Summer wakeboard event at Guntersville, AL. This is a grassroots tourny started by a few local riders that has gotten much attention in the past 2 years pulling rider talent from all over the Southeast, and this year should prove to be even better. The dates are June 4-6 with a rail jam happening in front of the host hotel Friday night.

For the out-of-towners, the Holiday Inn is giving us room rates of $95 lakeside and $85 parking lot side. To get that roomrate let them know you are with the wakeboard tournament. Key word is SPRING 2 SUMMER. Contact info for the hotel:

The rail jam will be there friday night along with a party. They have a bar "Networks". There will be a couple of kegs and food outside, so we can watch the riders rip the rail and enjoy some food and drinks and never leave the action.

The wakeboard event will follow over the next two days. I don't have info on the entry fee yet, but judging from the past two years I would say expect around $30-40. The contest format has changed this year and I think it will prove to be better than before. This year will be a 5-miniute run with no fall limits for any class. The 5-minute clock with start with the first cut outside the wake. If you have a stand-up run, you fit in more tricks. If you're a beginner or intermediate you can try some harder tricks without worrying about falls. Plus you can plan the timing for the tournament a bit closer. Falls are counted in the 5-minute clock though, so try not to fall too much. The classes are listed below...

CLASSES:
Beginner: Self-explanitory. Surface tricks, wake jumps, 180's, etc.

Intermediate: 1 invert & 1 spin. You can repeat the same invert or spin but repeat tricks do not count. There will be a wild card trick at the end of the run. Meaning you can try any invert or spin that you have been working on.

Advanced: Unlimited inverts & unlimited spins. Inverts can not have a spin more than a 180 or a handle pass with more than a 180. Spins can not be more than a 540.

Outlaw: open

Pro: invite only

Judging will be focused on these things: composition, execution, and intensity. Classes will be broken up into men's/women's as needed.

Composition - How well the run is put together. How your run and tricks flow.

Execution - Where and how long the grab is. The invert is true.

Intensity - How big you go. Difficulty of the trick.

I will try to post more info as it becomes available. Tell everyone you can!!!! There will be tons of free stuff being tossed out. This year is going to be INSANE!!
