I have a horrible, horrible habbit! I can clear the wake with good air but everytime I land I let go? My friend said he had the same problem at one point but has no advice for me. Anyone know how to break the habbit?

There's not much to help, grow a pair and just tell yourself each time before you take a set that you're not going to drop the handle. It's that easy.

Sheena - Are you keeping the handle at your hips in the air? When I see people not holding onto the handle sometimes it's caused by feeling like they are going to get pulled out the front. Keep the handle in closer to your waist and you'll feel much more comfortable in the air.

Sheena, i had this exact problem.
It felt like i could not hang onto the line even if i was glued to it - i eventually nailed the problem and it was all down to the fact that i was jumping away from the handle, try to imagine the angle that the line will cross the wake and where it would land on the other side - chances are your jump is projecting a few feet further back than where the handle is going to land. Try doing a few jumps (they only need to be small ones to start) but concentrating on keeping your leading shoulder forward (or just not leaning back on it) imagine landing a little further forward than you used to.

This also could be because you are taking off too much on edge, try to flatten off at the wake and push UP instead of BACK when you pop.
This worked wonders for me, as soon as i got the knack of not jumping away from the rope, inverts followed with ease and i was jumping much higher.

Good luck (and i concur with the post about a big pair, they come in handy!!!)

Usually when someone cannot hold on its because are too busy carrying their purse around too. Put the purse down and use a kung fu grip.

I can give you a pull if we cannot find a third. But first time you pop the handle you are out ;)

its not about growing a pair, its about proper technique. not holding it at your waste and letting it go away from you will pull you off balance. Happened to me when i was learning ts w2k.

Get a 100 dollar bill and put it in your hand then you either hold on to the Handel or you lose 100 bucks.

think about sticking your landing and bring the rope to your hip!! i think we all go through this phase at some point and its all about just being mentally tough, but i would recommend jumping on a tramp with some friends and tie a rope and handle to something near bye and just get the hang of jumping and landing with the handle in your hand and then eventually have friends "spike" you on the tramp to make u jump higher so that u feel uncomfortable cause u are so high, but remember to never let go. u have to make having the handle in your hand second nature!

Try jumping with holding on only with your front hand, or, jump holding with both hands, and while in the air or while landing, let go with your back hand. Other than that, I say its all mental, dont be scared to hold on....JUST DO IT!
