Just outa curiosity.. Has anyone had the chance to personally compare last years Tige hull with the new '03 ConvexV rockered hull? I also wanted to mention that I went to a boat show last weekend and saw the new Tige asthetics. Pretty tacky compared to last years although still tighter than the rest of the toys.

I have. It is a night and day difference. The new ConvexV hulls put out an incredible wake that is fairly steep and firm. The wake continues to grow accordingly when you weigh it down and is clean back to about 85 feet. That was my experience with about 1500 pounds and 4 to 5 people in the boat.

You can get the limited edition or the riders edition graphics, and pick just about any colors you want. So I think you can go from a classy, mellow looking boat, to a loud (possibly tacky) show stopper boat. Too bad cars don't allow us to customize like all of the boat manufactures do.

Go test drive one. You will be very impressed with what that new hull does.

Hey, you and me both! I have not tried the 2003 22i Type R, but here it will be very similar to the 22V. The info I gave you was based on the 22V. Decisions, decisions.

Hey Brent! I don't need to buy a new Tige after all! The new ConvexV hull doesn't apply to the 22i Type R! The Mikker built 22i hull remains the same as last year! My Tige still sports the tightest colors and graphics so I think I'll just laylow for another couple summers!

Aaron, I hate to burst your bubble, but the new 2003 22i Type R is coming out with the new ConvexV hull. You might want to recheck that.

Brent & Aaron, We had the 22I with the new hull under it out last weekend at our demo weekend. I did not get a chance to weight the boat with very many people or ballast but the size and shape of the wake is very impressive. We look forward to the upcoming season with this boat!! Terry

Hmmm.. I saw the new 2003 at my dealer shop and it didn't appear to be any different. The '03 catalog or website don't mention anything about the convexV hull in regards to the 22i. Either way I can't afford a new one this year. Next year possibly.

Saw the convex V hulls at the boat show last week. This is a massive change to all of their boat hulls. Even the 20V had it for 2003. It will be very interesting to hear how this new hull performs.
