gonna have a go at making one of these myself for my 97 sport nautique, would anyone be able to help me out with these dimensions for it if possible?

I have a 05 super air 220 tower if you want measurements.

i cant open the link but will try at home tonight, is that fct gen 3 tower though?

No, I think the gen 3 is rounded like a loop on the lower bars. Mine is the same bottom like the one in the pic' it just swoops back more & holds the bimini well over the top. Just let me know.

Jeff the pictures you have up are of the FCT1, i have a 2001 SAN with a FCT1, if boat wasnt stored i would get you measurements. But i think you want to find someone with a earlier FCT1 from a 2000-2002 SAN

I made a tower and unless you have lots of tools and ability buy one you will thank me later.

I built one because I could not find one that I liked that would fold down lower than the windshield. My tower works well and look ok but I spent more time and money on it than if I would have bought one and installed it. Plus I fear that if I ever want to sell my boat people will look at my homemade tower as a liability.

i must be mistaken, i thought fct gen 1 was the rigid one piece tower, gen2 the one posted above, gen 3 the newest one with the swoop design?

or was it fct, fct gen 1,2,3 etc. Anyone be able to post a pic for each fct tower?

There is a couple different definitions of the Gen for FCT Towers.

Up until 2008 there were two generations of towers on most nautiques.

From late 1997-1999 the first generation FCT was created. This has the three forizontal bars with the entire tower folding forward it did not fold like Gen 2 towers did.

In 2000 CC developed the Gen 2 tower which is the most common FCT that everyone knows about. The Gen 2 tower is the one pictured above and is probably on 95% of Nautiques with towers.

Here is where CC marketing dept confuses people (as usual)- In 2008 they began offering the Titan Series III tower on the 210, 230, etc... They referred to this as the FCT II. In my opinion the FCT was a tower that CC designed, which they did not in the case of the Titan. I think CC tried to keep it 'simple' and just called it the FCT II.

In 2009 they began offering the FCT 3 which is a Roswell design. This is the mid-mounted tower with the forward swoop design.

In 2010, they also are offering the FCT 4 on the 216V, 230, etc... This is a more traditional tower again. Not sure who makes this one.

Hope this helps...

My buddy just built one off of my 01 SAN FCT 2 for his 2001. He is an engineer and put it on autocad and everything. I cant believe how good it turned out, and I think for about $400. Ill see if I can get the measurements he took.

hey mate,
can you get the CAD drawings for it aswell? Im also an engineer so that would help me out quite a bit, from there I can get some guys to help me fabricate it quite easily. Did he do it in autocad or solidworks do you know, solidworks would be easier for me but im sure I can convert it.

This will probably just complicate the question, but I think there is some confusion between generation and current FCT# option. Here is my understanding of the Nautique tower history:

FCT1 GEN1- Unknown years

FCT1 GEN2- ? to 2003 & returned in 2005

FCT1 GEN3- 2004

FCT1 GEN4- 2006 to current

FCT2-2008 to current

FCT3- 2009 to current

FCT4- 2010 (not pictured)

It’s hard to get good measurements because the bends don’t give you a good measuring point. I hope you get the CAD drawing, but here are some basic measurements for a 2003 SANTE 210 FCT1 GEN2. My tower is folded and in the garage, so I couldn’t get a few measurements you needed. Good luck, you will need it!
A= 64
B= 24
C= 33
D= 28
E= 70
F= 70
G= 55
H= 40
J= 29
K= 15
L= 79
M= 74
N= same as J?
O= 60

thanks shooter,
i would love to get my hands on a gen 3 or gen 4, i think they would be a nice addition to an older style boat. Anyone seen these on an older sport/air nautique pre 2000?

I personally like the GEN2 the best. Many hate the GEN3 because the arch is not good in the way of visibility. I also like look of the angles over the arch. The GEN4 is all preference, but it looks too bulky on top to me.

I also really like the looks of the new FCT3, but it doesn’t fold down far enough for my garage.

I have not seen a new style tower on a old sport, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work if your building it or willing to tweak it if it doesn’t fit. always has some very knowledgeable guys regarding this kind of stuff.

yeh i think gen 2 is gonna be the easiest to fabricate and i also probably have more room for the bimini thats already on there, but now im thinking the bimini might need to be incorporated into the design of the tower such as the pics above as it might be conflicting where it is at the moment with the tower feet locations. I cant see it being overly hard to modify the bimini brackets into a connection with the tower though.

Wow Shooter.

I’ve been privy for a long time to know to not to play golf against you for money (let it be known everybody ... anybody who doubts it ... he’s for real) but now ... note to self ... I’m newly impressed not to engage you in a bet for ‘know your FCT gen towers.’ (Scooter’s even crazy knowledgeable about Master Craft arcania too.)

If you look at my profile, my stock tower most closely resembles the FCT1 GEN3, but not quite.

While I won’t say I ‘hate’ the arch in my tower, but it did take some accessories to remove the blind spot.

In my profile, the stock mirror is hard to see, but the arm is more visible. It extends from the bottom of the wakeboard racks on the right side. The mirror is self is twisted horizontal (for trailering) and appears just as a slim black line.

My set up now is a CIPA extreme 3-panel mirror on the right side, with the stock mirror re-attached on the left side. That gives pretty good coverage for the driver wherever the rider.

ok to save the hassle then i should hit up a fct gen 2 tower like orginally planned? I feel this is going to be the easiest one to fab and probably the cheapest...other then the ladder in the first pic...

I have a FCT Gen3 that I took off a 226 for sale.. The left front foot is off but we fabricate and install towers on all different types of boats .. Sounds like yo have the facility to modify..

Where are you located...

yeh cheers for that seth, im gonna try make somethen in solidworks when i get the time. Wake pro marine, im in Australia but interested if we could freight it (my expense). If we could hook all the dimensions up to suite my boat i would love to get a gen 3. how much would we be looking at for it?

I made one trying to copy the FCT gen2.

I take the measurement using a picture like the one you posted.
