I know the Inland Surfer crew wakesurfs on Lake Sammamish, WA, but are there others out there surfing on Lake Samm? I'm hoping to find a core group of folks that have boats and want to switch off pulling each other before or after work (most of my friends just want to water ski or wakeboard).

I have a Wakesetter VLX with factory ballast, the power wedge and some extra fat sacs. It's moored on the lake so it is easy to grab some time either before or after work.
Thanks.

Donnie, you purchased a VLX? How's it for skiing?

Hey Bryan. I haven't tried it yet for skiing, but the wake looks respectable for recreational skiing. I got the Diamond Hull so the boat is basically the Sunscape 21 LSV but with the Wakesetter options (below-the-floor ballasts, bow ballast, tower, power wedge, etc.). The Sunscape 21 LSV is supposed to be a good family ski boat, and with the added below-the-floor ballasts & bow ballast, it is a great crossover boat.

If you're hard core about the skiing the slalom course you'll want to get the Malibu Response LXi (or the comparable Natique/Mastercraft), but I don't know how well those will surf. A friend has a Nautique 196 and he can't surf behind his, so you should check it out before you go that route.

Thanks.

DonnieB, Lake Sammamish surfer here...I live on the northwest side of the lake, Supra 21v, so I'm on the water as well. I'll be looking to get out before/after work very soon, and there are a couple of with boats in the rotation. I'll send a PM...

Hey Don -- thanks again for the ride last week! It was so great to get on the water before work and such a great day to do it. When I got back to Austin this weekend, they had released a ton of water from Lake Travis into Lake Austin, so I think the water here in Austin was actually colder than it was in Sammamish that morning!

Hey Matt. Thanks for coming out and for all of the tips. I had a ball. It turned out to be a beautiful morning! Let me know when you're back in town!

Thanks.
Donnie
