My friend has a 2003 VLX and we are trying to figure out how much ballast there is.

It has the hard tanks on either side of the engine and the bag in the floor under the walkway.

Could you help me out with how much each one weighs when full!

Thanks

I think 200 lbs a side in rear and 500 lbs center, but it could be 450. Grand total of 850 or 900.

It should be 900lbs. Two 200's and a 500 in the middle. Thats what my 04 has.

I don't have an answer, but for 04 Malibu went to the hard center tank.

I would go to www.themalibucrew.com and ask that forum.

i used to have an 02 and i was told the rear tanks are 250's and the center is 500. So a 1000 pounds when completely full.

2 250's in the rear and 400 in the center. I have the same boat. Actually getting the full 400 in the center bag has been debated though. What ever it is, it isn't quite enough.... lol..

I have an early production 04 VLX (it has a bag, not hard tank in the ski locker), and our local certified scale shows about 380lbs when full....I have not weighed the rear tanks.

Greg, and correct me if I am wrong but you probably got it a completley full when weighing it, but in the boat it never quite fills up all the way, so it is even less that 380 when in the boat.

Chad, I was being generous for a stock bag...I have a different bag in the locker and that's what I got out of it.
