V drive porpoising

I currently ride behind a direct drive with a rock solid pull with little to no porpoising.

I get little to no wake.

When lake conditions are a little rough,

Do newer V drives porpoise less than older ones.

And what if anything can be done to minimize the effect.

+1 on the trim tab, that will definitely help with the porpoising by dropping it down a bit.

Never had a decent V-drive porpoise on me.

I've had it happen in most every boat, including some of the nicest V-drives available. But only when we're making a run across the water with rear sacks full and running light in the front. I'll usually drain the rear and frill the front to help make the ride more comfortable. I've never had it happen while wakeboarding.

Next time you're out on the water....

Sit / stand on the back of your wakeboard while being pulled - you'll bounce like crazy

Sit / stand to the front of the wakeboard while being pulled - solid as can be.
