Alright, so I've done a bit of research on this and read a few topics on this site as well as a few others. I have a 2001 Supra Launch with a remote that is more or less molded in to the dash panel, because the Kenwood Head Unit is on the passenger side. The wired remote has to stay, unless I want a hole in my dash, so I would like for it to continue to function. I want to replace the head unit with an upgraded model with at least 3 sets of 5 volt preamp outs, an AUX in for an Ipod, and MP3 CD-R capable. In order for it to work with my existing remote, it has to be "marinized" by an aftermarket company. As of right now, I'm told that there are no marine units that can satisfy all of my needs. Does anyone know of any way to get everything I want? Or am I asking too much? Is it possible to open the deck up and connect the wires to the circuit board manually? Is there a way to connect the existing remote to an IR transmitter to send the signals that way? (the head unit I'm lookin at comes with a wireless remote) Is there a head unit that is out there that will do everything I want and I just don't know about it yet? Any other ideas? I'm open to suggestions. Thanks everyone.
