replacing ballast pump

I may have a bad ballast pump my dealer took it out it ran fine. If its bad how hard is it to just replace the pump with a new one. I have an 02 X Star.

If it is a jabsco pump it might just be the impellers. The new yellow impellers are a major improvement. There is also another trick to these pumps, but you have to take them apart. I did it to mine and it made them work well. If not I have some Jabscos I will make you a deal on. Drop me a line at maxwakemaxfun@gmail.com and we can discuss the fix.

Replace it with a Rule 205fm Pump: they are dirt cheap and compact.
