I am trying to head out this weekend, going to do a few laps of the water first to make sure I don't do the same, great pic, crappy luck!

Youch! Still a bit chilly up there I take it! How big is Black Canyon? I think I'll probably try and hit all the local lakes sometime this summer for some new scenery. Any camping close by?

thx!

Hi Levi. Black Canyon is just outside Emmett, Id off Highway 52 toward Horseshoe Bend. The web says 1100 acres and 12 miles of shoreline. There is overnight camping at a couple park spots above the main park. Main park closes at 8PM in the summer. No hookups available at the smaller above parks though. Nice ramp amd park at the main park. All camp spots have ramp access. Water is great. Somewhat busy on the weekends in the summertime. Going this afternoon to try out the new wakeboard! Tim

you gotta be kidding me - boarding where there are ice bergs on the water? That a fatality waiting to happen.

Thanks for the info! I hope you had a great time w/ the new board! So w/ the 8pm thing...do you have to be off the lake by 8pm also? That'd be no fun considering how late is stays light here during the summer!
