The way he stomps his landings is just inhuman. Just about everything in the vid I posted is big and some of it is very technical, like landing blind with the handle between his legs and spinning over the line for the orbital 540, not to mention the speedball. These aren't easy tricks to put down, but Darin makes 'em look like nothing. His form is rock solid. Perfect every time! I would love to see a fall section for this vid, but I bet it would be pretty short!
I can only imagine the dedication it took to get this good. The next time I take a digger, I'll try to remind myself that Darin's been taking falls like that since the time I was born. He's a true jedi master of wakeboarding and he's reached a level of comfort and ability that may never be reached again. Some might say it looks robotic. I understand that part of the fun of watching Harley's vids is watching him pull out of super sketchy landings with epic saves, but ya gotta respect a guy who's conquered all the fear of hucking these huge tricks and tamed them down to a science through decades of repitition. Wakeboarding really is Darin Shapiro's bitch, and I'm sure he likes it that way.
