Will the original straight boom work on a v-drive with the pylon near the back of the boat? I know they make the contour and V-drive specific, but if we are just using it to teach young children at slow speeds, will the straight boom work? I've heard the only issue is spray, but at slow speeds is that an issue? Thanks

Yes. The spray is enough to knock them down. Get the right equipment.

Or, get an extension. BFI sells 12 or 18" ones I believe.

Still, I'm thinking that you may have a height problem depending on your pylon/sundeck/gunnel set up. I have the contour boom and hook it up to my v-drive pylon but even then it's a little low the way the Sanger is set up.

I use BI tower boom it gets the skier up where they should be and out of the spray

The extension is not enough. I use a tower boom on my V-drive.
