I/O Swim Platform

On our I/O the built in swim platform is way to small. It is like maybe a foot wide, nowhere near enough to put your board on. Over fall break or winter break I was thinking of making a Fiberglass swim platform. I would like it to be at the same level as the current on, so it isn't so large. Also if anyone knows anything about the fiberglassing process that would be awesome and how I should go about making the shape. I was thinking of making like a lip attached to the new platform that would form to the contour under the old one as well to give it more support.

To get it done right it will cost a fortune,

unless you know a good f-glass worker

Check out www.swimplatforms.com for some Ideas on shape and how to attache platform to hull.
They might even have one that fits your hull.

I no longer own this boat, but, I had the swim platform built last spring . . . it is huge and was the best thing ever done to that boat. The platform sits just above the water and does not drag. Pretty cool to put a lawn chair on it and chill down with a cold one.

I love that fist picture you posted dave23. The trap door the comes up when the outdrive hits it is genius. I am looking to add a swimplatform to my boat over the winter, and am thinking about this trap door idea.

John that is by far the best, most usefull, and if i do say so sexiest swim platform i have ever seen on an I/O. What kind of bolts did you use to secure the platform to the boat itself? And how much did that platform cost you?

Our company Fiberglass Fixation/Tidal Audio custom built it for a customer. They run $2500.00 plus tax. We used stainless bolts into incapsulated aluminum. The platform is gelcoated fiberglass with a composite core that we use in our race boats. the brackets are also aluminum.
