What does it feel like. My knee has been bothering me for a couple of weeks now. It feels better everyday though. It only hurts when I extend it all the way out or bend it all the way in (like sitting on it). Does anybody know what this sounds like...hyperexension, sprain,??? And should I ride??

go to a doctor! i would say if u can walk you are probably ok. my kneecap popped out of joint & then back in about 2 months ago. i had a MRI done. nothing serious, just a really bad bone bruise. it's better knowing what the problem is though! if u wait u may make it worse!

Yup, go to the doctor. Among other things, hyperextension can tear your PCL which may not immediately prevent you from walking or even running, but needs attention nonetheless. How does it feel if you sit down with your knee at a right angle, your muscles relaxed, and your foot planted on the ground; then yank back on the top of your shin? If it feels uncomfortable at all, especially compared to the other leg, you might have a problem.

Who knows though? It could be anything.

I tried that and felt nothing. I can walk and run fine too. I think I may have just tweaked it a little bit..maybe a slight sprain. But yeah you're right I should go to the Dr. regardless.

i've had achie knees a couple of times from landing hard and possibly hyperextending a bit. Same with landing backroll rolls if i'm spinning realy quick, i've found that my knees twist a bit.

give them a few days and they should get better, its probably just a bit of bruising.

From my experience with hypperextended knees, when you first try to walk it feels about like you leg is gonna bend the wrong way, but with a lil time it gets better. My guess is the doc will tell you to take it easy for a week or 2 and take some ibeprofin(sp)
