I am fairly new to boating and even newer to wakeboarding and I need to replace the prop off my Mercruiser 5.0L. I have a 20' Bayliner Capri and would like recommendations for prop pitch and number of blades, for best acceleration and pulling boarders out of the water. Thanks.

It's hard to recommend a prop pitch. It depends on your boat. What works well on my boat may not on yours. In general, you need to determine (from the manual or dealer) the RPM your boat should running at wide open throttle. Then you want to select a prop that will run at the recommended RPM )
(at WOT).

For wakeboarding, I would use a four blade prop. A four blade prop will give your boat better hole-shot performance.

If you're currently running a three blade prop and want to match the performance. Get a four blade that's 1" less in pitch.
