I cant decide if i like the idea. The problem is if you get any scratches in the graphics, not only have you damaged the gel coat but you also just wasted $750+ in graphics. I'm not particularily fond of the MC's but that looks good. Would like to see more hull graphics to come out before i make a concrete decision...IMO, Take care all and happy boardin'

That looks good.. man I have so many graphics that would look insane on a boat its crazy. We just purchased a new HPdesign Jet 9000S and started wraping cars. This guy came in and asked if I could wrap his boat so I had to go searching for articles on it. Thats why I asked, if the demand is there I am sure we can do it. I have a Mastercraft X2 that I think I may wrap just to see how nice it is. As far as the scratch thing goes why would you have to pay for a whole new wrap job? When we have a vehicle that gets damaged we just re-print that area and then re-apply the wrap unless it is so dammaged we have to re-wrap one side. Have a happy turkey day ...

The company that did our graphics ( www.revolutiondecal.com) has an Air Nautique he wrapped on his site. It looks cool, but expect to pay more like $1500-3000+ installed.

Is the printer made specifically for doing vinyl or can you use a normal printer with vinyl fed through. Reason i ask is because we have HP design jet 500 plotter at work and was wondering if i could print vinyl with it.

The problem with most of the printers.. is they are unable to print at such a high resolution and still look good at that size. The printer that we use is solvent based and man it kicks out some killer graphics. We can print on anything with this one as well. The plotter that you were talking about may be able to print on some materieals but not effectivly.

How much would it cost to do something simple like all black with a maroon stripe and Texas A&M printed on the side.

To be honest I dont want to try and advertise here for business.. Not my style..I was more looking to see how many folks out there would consider actually wrapping thier boats. We figured if it was a hot comodity we could start doing this as well. .. without upseting anyone.. The cool thing about wrapping is you can do just about anything you want with electonic graphics....just shoot me an email and I will see what I can do for you guys. Dave if this looks like something you may be interested in and we have the time perhaps I can thow a free boat wrap your way this spring.... My email address is dlgraphics@sbcglobal.net late...

http://www.carwrap.com/carwrap-questions.html#4 "14. Can you wrap on plastic or fiberglass? We strongly recommend against it. The wrap will lift up off of these types of surfaces" Does this mean the only boats they're wrapping are aluminum? Or does 'fiberglass' not include gelcoat? I know i've seen this done on our type of boat, and i'm VERY interested in doing it, but not if it isn't going to last :/

Are those individual cut vinyl logos or are they printed on the vinyl? They did a nice job making it line up around the back corner!

originally it was gonna be diecut so they would all be indivdual peices. but at the last minute we changed to digitally printed graphics since the controltac vinyl is easier to wrap around corners, we also had a peice of 3M clear bra placed around the back so wakeboards won't damage the vinyl if they hit it

Tyler.. That looks like just a vinyl wrap... sure looks good though. Thats the best thing about vinyl wraps, you can do anything. As far as the life expectancy I would say 2 to 3 years as well. Depending on the handling and maintnace of the boat itself. The other thing you have to consider is those boats that go into the salt water.. Either way you look at it the wrap is a nice substitute to paint.

3M control tac... great product uses a sticky back film that realy sucks to the surface and really lays down nice when heat is added. If anyone does go out and get one done make sure your installer uses a good laminat as well. We never let one out the door without a good sun screen...

Tyler, is that nautique you have the pic of from Preist River ID??? I'm positive that is the boat that was pulling one of the contests down there this summer. The pic of your boat on your profile looks like it was taken at Little Bow? Ever ride there?

Does anyone know of a place in the bay area that would be able to do a wrap? I've been thinking of doing one for the past year. Thanks in advance for the info.

I saw that Green and White 220 at West Cost Correct Craft. The wrap graphic's were done very nice top notch. The front window was a trip. After looking at it for 5 min's I still couldn't figure out what they were trying to promote. Just thinking if someone to all the time to do all that it would be a bit easyer to read.
