Board shop???

I was just wondering. What does it take to open up a board shop?!? I just don't have any thing like that where I live and was wondering how much money it would cost to be supplied from board companies or just explain how it works. Thanks.

I would say no less then half mil. When you figure in product, rent, buying displays and all the other stuff. For $100,000 you could sell stuff out of the bed of your truck!

It all depends. This one guy I know actually bought out all watersports sales rights from a local marina where he used to be head of the shop there. He opened his own shop with a very large customer base already. He seems to be doing REALLY REALLY REALLY well now.

I have no idea how much overhead cash he put into this thing. But, I doubt it was as much as some of u guys are saying.

I think it is going to depend a lot on what you plan to carry. If it is mainly clothes, boards and accesories, I would imagine your start up would be between 100-200k, depending on size of building, rent, insurance, inventory etc. If boats and parts for them are part of the idea, your cost will increase drasticly. Just my 2 cents.
