We just got the new x-2 with the 4 tower speakers and 10 inch sub, whenever we try to blast a song with any bass the speakers pop, is there any way to get some good bass out of the 10 inch without poping the speakers?? is there like a low/midrange control on the amps?? does anyone know the recomended dimentions for building a box for the free air clarion under the dash? this may help im thinking.

place your clarion in a closed enclosure. it works 10times better.

Very important.
Make sure your speakers are on high pass and the sub on low pass.

Vic, I have an 02 Xstar and I'm looking into tower speakers. I currently have the stock Clarion Speakers in the boat. (4 speaks and 4 tweeters) I want to get 2 or 4 tower speakers. I was told if I went with Clarion tower speakers I would get a lot of distortion?? What is your opinion? I currently have a 4 channel/400 watt Amp. I was thinking I would get a 2 or 4 channel Amp to use in addition to the one I already have. I like the kicker speakers but they are so expensive! What do you have in your set up?
