a friend of mine bought a wetsuit off e-bay. when it arrived it had mothballs in the box.

anybody ever heard of this? does it do anything to the neoprene other then make it stink?

I just ordered a new suit, and if mine comes with moth balls in it I will probably throw up. I hate that smell.

You should take the suit out and send the mothballs back

Reason #237 to support your local Pro Shop. We don't package ours with mothballs!

Does anyone else envision teeny tiny moth testicles when they hear "moth balls"?

Hey Lizrd, I'm right there with you. When I hear people say they don't like the smell of moth balls, I think how do they get their head between those tiny legs.

That or how could they be so cruel grabbing them by those fragile little wings.

Ronix - Agreed.... but some friends will never learn.....

So nobody knows if that will hurt the neoprene or anything?

I doubt it. On a side note I do put mothballs, and fabric softener sheets all over the inside of my boat. I read somewhere that mice and other critters cant stand the smell, and will move on instead of nesting in my boat all winter. Not sure if it's true...so far so good.
