I'm looking at a used 1999 MasterCraft X-Series X-Star...

It has about 550 hours on its Indmar GM 350

It has Bimini, Perfect Pass, Boardracks, Tower Lights and Tower Speakers

Sits on a Tandem MC Trailer with a spare

Can anyone help me with a suggested offer on this boat?

NADA or KBB can help.

NADA said that average retail is 26K and low was 22K

Depending on condition I would say that boat will sell for 26 to 29. Keep in mind that a lot of 99 Stars have only a center line ballast so you will want to plumb in a fat sac on either side of the engine box.

The way the market is now.....you'll be favoring hte low end of retail. Now is not a ood time for sellers. End of season and gas price on the rise. Where is the boat located? Offer the low end of the scale 22k ish...then negotiate. Nit pick the hell out of the boat...looking of rprice breaks. FYI I just bought one boat and sold another in the last week. the market is definatley in the buyers favor.

I thought as much...Looked up the value in NADA...

Its a dealer and they are not budging off of $27,900...

I think I'll pass on it.

Dealers have to make money to stay in business....individuals are not in the business of selling boats. The only way your goign otfind a decent deal on a used boat from a deal is if the dealer railed the person on trade in (not very likely...most people buying high end luxury itmes know how to negotiate)

If you add all the options to the boat this is what I get

Average Retail
Base Price $22,960
Options

Power Boat: CANVAS
Bimini Top: $295
Power Boat: ENTERTAINMENT
Stereo - am/fm CD player w/4 speakers: $310
Power Boat: SKI BOAT
Cruise Control: $835
Wake-Board Racks: $215
Wake-Board Tower: $1,030
Wake-Board Tower Lights: $650
Wake-Board Tower Speakers: $585
Water Ballast System: $970

TOTAL PRICE $27,850

I think you can see why they want $27,900.00

Its not he 27,900 that scares me...

Its the 8.8% tax and shipping it to me here in Seattle...

all of a sudden I'm spending 32,000

You are adding all of that stuff twice. The Nada gives the value of the xstar. The boat comes with most of that stuff on it. Adding back the tower and ballast just inflates the price.
I would just go in and tell them you will give 24K, leave your phone # and leave.
