This is my first season wakeboarding, I have acquired a few boards this year. I wanted to know if I need to do anything to store them properly for the winter. I.e does my boots need to come off. Is there any kind of cleaner that is recommended for the boots or board. I live in NC and they will be kept In the garage. I heard one guy say he shrink wraps his during the winter. Thanks for any help. Just want to be ready for next spring.

Does anyone miss the good old days where your bindings would perish if not stored correctly? na..... neither do I.

you shrink wrap your kitten? jk, put it in a corner or a closet and leave it, maybe look at it, put your boots on and watch videos in the winter...

Make sure you use binding stabilizer and its a good idea to change your board fluid.

After all the awesomely sarcastic comments I get to admit that I put a coat of Turtle wax on my board every winter. Keeps it nice and shiny, because we all know wakeboarding is more about looking good than riding well.

Depending on where you live, binding stabilizer can be next to impossible to find (you can't find it in Ohio). Most of the guys I ride with will just use blinker fluid instead.....it's basically the same stuff. You can find it at any Pep Boys or Napa next to the light bulb repair kits.

Don't listen to these guys about binding stabilizer, or blinker fluid. You can winterize your board with common house hold items. I personally like to cover my board in honey. Keeps the resin in the fiberglass from drying out. Also if you don't want the material on your bindings to crack, just smear peanut butter all over them. The oils in the peanut butter keeps everything nice and moist and crack free!
