I posted earlier about a wakeboard for my wife and daughter. They are beginners. Got many recommendations for the diva and divine. Was thinking of ordering the divine, but my wife doesn't care for the graphics on the divine or diva. She likes the O'brien Vixen graphics, which is listed as an easy to ride intermediate board. Anyone ever ride that or know anything about the O'brien boards? Any other suggestions?

My wife started out on a Hyperlite two years ago and quickly grew out of the board. I bought her the 06 O'Brien Atla 136. She loves the Atla and wishes that she would have bought O'brien to begin with. O'brien makes great boards and with her experience, I would buy a board she can grow into.

My wife rides the Vixen now. She started on a Blindside flower. She is just a seasoned beginner. She said that she likes the Vixen much better. She says "it holds alot better but it is a little faster" She likes the fact that the molded in fins track so much better. Good luck with whatever she decides.

The funny thing about board companies saying a board is beginner/imtermediate/advanced is that it actually often comes down to how old the design is. It almost never reflects whether a board is better for beginners. While a select few boards are too advanced for a beginner rider most "intermediate" or "advanced" boards would be great for a new rider and really help them progress. I'd listen to Tate as far as the Vixen is concerned.

I can also vouch for O'Brien. I ride the Natural and think it's the best thing that's happened to me since I first saw a lake.

(btw, between the Diva and Divine, I'd definitely take the Divine. It is one of the few old board designs that is amazing for beginners and intermediate riders alike.)

I ride an 05 Vixen and I LOVE it!!! I cannot say enough about this board. I bought a Liquid Force angel at the beginning of the season and I went back to the Vixen after riding the angel about 10 times.
