This summer I was lucky enough to catch a great day of riding on tape. This was the first time I landed every trick I know without falling in one sequence. It happened a few more times later this summer, but this was by far the most memorable day of riding in many, many years.

It may not look like I am enjoying it because I am thinking the whole time... holy crap... this is going down on tape... I just kept concentrating and nailed it.

Now its time to learn more tricks. For those of you in your 30's, keep plugging away! Maybe I can get ten more by the time I am 49...

I just made this video this weekend... kinda fun adding music and text.

Great job on the video and the riding was SICK! I don't know about you but about 5 inverts/tricks into the run I get pretty tired. Way to throw down, thanks for sharing!

Great riding man, that inspired me as an almost 35 year old to keep at it learning new tricks. Besides the spins, which I think are really impressive...I loved the HS front. You don't see many of them, and you made it look smooth. Were you mostly self taught, or did you ride alot with a crew that helped you out?
Old     (eas)      Join Date: Nov 2001       10-14-2008, 6:27 AM Reply
very nice! HS5 and SW BS1...impressive.

p.s. that slob 3 at the end was big!

Nice work!!

As another 39 year old wakeboarder that has been doing it for a long time, I can appreciate how cool it is to through down all your tricks in one pass with no falls!

Thanks everyone.

Loren, I have taken a ton of lessons in my early 30s from NorCal guys that kill it like Brodie, Al M. (aka WakeViolator), and Josh Smith. The last few years I have ridden with some of those same guys, plus a few others like Matt Norton (see him in the CWB Faction video) and a bunch of others that are either better than me or about the same where we push each other. WakeViolator gets credit for the heel front and Norton gets credit for helping making me do it right consistently.

I wish could stuck that toe 3 grab at the end... that would been a sick way to end the video!

You have AMAZING FORM man.. That heelside 5 was soooo popped and perfect. You should go out 5 more feet to save your knees a little bit. But your technique is perfect, better than some guys you see out there throwing all sorts of mobes, 7s and glides!!

I'm pretty stoked ww's like the video too... I used a pretty simply program... Roxio DVD creator. I kinda want to spend some bucks and get a better program now and do some cool affects.

i like the fact that the video is completely unedited also, i'd be interested to see others post videos of their entire bag of tricks all without falling. sick riding, what tricks are you working on now?

Hey Brian... I am turning the clock backards in 63 days... I will turn 38!

Craig, I'm trying HS OA 360s, Crow Mobes, regular BS180's, and whatever else comes into my head. I want to land something OA, so I might go back to OA ts540. I dont know... those didn't work out so well in the spring. Gotta keep pushing tho.

Way to throw down. It is fun to be in the boat when somebody sticks all the tricks in their bag. Thanks for sharing your stoke with us.

I am 39 as well and just got back into boarding this summer after taking about a 10 year hiatus. In the first couple months I got w2w hs and ts, and have ts fs 180's and a few surface tricks. Nice to see another almost 40-something doing what your doing. Good inspiration for the rest of us almost 40 somethings to go big.

Definitely notice the aches and pains on Monday are a little more intense than when we were 25 eh bro? lol

Great work!!!

Your riding is awesome, very impressive, hopefully I'm at that level after 10 years of riding.

nice man, but it looks like you should run a longer line. You landed in the trough quite a bit.

Nice run...hope I have half that bag at 39
Old     (unclejessie)      Join Date: Jan 2004       10-15-2008, 7:19 AM Reply
BBR- Its funny you said that about the line length. Someone else said the same thing earlier in the thread. I do run only 75 ft because I find I have to work just a little harder at 80, especially on boats with wide wakes. I have taken a good beating going at 80ft on wider wakes... But, I always try a few sets at 80 just keep me thinking about it. This summer I landed just about the whole bag at 80ft one time behind my boat. Maybe next summer I just start that way and forget about 75ft! Thanks for the input tho.

I did not realize their were so many of you that were old too! I posted something awhile back asking who was doing what at how old and it didn't get much response.
Nice riding Jessie!
Any of you other old people have video's? Let's see em!!!

BTW I will never land all of my bag in one pass as I am sitting on my ass with an ACL reconstruction from the same trick I hurt myself on last year.

Nice riding Gene, I love all the spin variations!

Here is one of my best sets ever from 2 years ago. That would make me 37 at the time.

http://www.wakepics.com/video/20308/jakober-s-nwwf-video

There are cuts in the video, but only to shorten it up. The only wreck is on the first HS Front attempt. The last 30 seconds are from a different day.

Man, that is a totally legit heel front! No frantrum there!
How do you get so much pop on your RtoR & Half Cab Rolls?
Did you catch those failed Crow mobe attempts at the end? lol

Come on old guys lets see some more!

Gene, go and get a 2.5 ft section and you'll be in the sweet spot.

Rippers in their 30's rule. I love it when people ask how old I am, they never believe me when I tell'em I'll be 32 soon.
Old     (hawk22)      Join Date: Jul 2006       10-15-2008, 9:22 AM Reply
Jessie, sweet video. gives me hope. I'm about to turn 32 and I keep asking myself "is this it?" I've got some basic grabs, hs 180 and hs switch 180, and a backroll...and thats my bag of tricks. just this season I've been trying some 3s and backside 180s with no success, but seeing that vid keeps me believing. I hope i can post of my vid someday...
Old     (unclejessie)      Join Date: Jan 2004       10-15-2008, 9:32 AM Reply
When I was 32, I had HS3, Backroll, and Tanny... that was it. At 34 or 35 I added Toe3, Toe front, toe 5. At 36 or 37 I added Hs5 (although it came and went), and elephant. 37 was heel front. 38 was sw bs 180. Somewhere in there scarecrow came in. 39 is when I can say I own each of them!
Old     (lfxstar)      Join Date: Jul 2001       10-15-2008, 3:30 PM Reply
Jessie, I was the other person who commented on line length. With your technique you will find that after riding at 80 feet for 2 days you will not want to go back. It makes it SOOOO MUCH easier on your knees when you start landing on the down curve more and you will find that extra air time makes a world of difference when learning even new tricks. With how good your heel 5 was, if you get that pop at 80 feet you can definitely go for a 7. The only time it is wrong to move back in length is if your technique is not correct but yours is like watching a wakeboarding instructional video.

And wait till you see how much bigger you can take your elephant. Elephants Greg Necrasson style is one of my favorite things to do and at 80 feet, I am damn well near parallel with the boat. I actually ride at 82-83 feet, but its not really much of a difference
Old     (unclejessie)      Join Date: Jan 2004       10-15-2008, 4:03 PM Reply
ha ha... good to know. Most of my crew all ride at 80 and they all give me crap about being at 75! I will give it shot.

I did find the other day cruzing in from way out at 75 ft created a little line tension vs. cutting hard for a short pull out. I was trying OA 3s and the guy had me cruzn in from a wide, wide pull. I was able to get the handle lower a little easier using that technique. I can imagine the same thing happening when riding at 80.

I am all for less impact for knees!!
