I'm looking at a Hyperlite State for my son. He's 11 y.o., 90 lbs. He's intermediate/ advanced. He's been riding a Motive 119. I'm looking at the 125 or 130. I think he's about to hit a growth spurt. Any recommendations?

Yeah, it's a pretty decent board. He'd probably like it. I didn't really have any complaints, except it seemed to lack some snap off the wake. The extra "mini" fins outside the regular fins made it track really nicely on landings, but also made it feel a bit tight on the water, even with the center fins out. You may be right on with the State, though, because of the size matrix. Good luck.... I wish I was riding at that age. He's gonna stomp it when he gets older. BTW, I don't think I'd ever consider riding that board with the center fins in, unless you are pretty beginner.
