Body Part:RIB
How?: Today I started landing in the flats for the first time and we only had a small patch of calm water to work with. I was cutting hard heelside and when I took off I got off-axis, knew I was going to wreck, and tried rolling to my back...landed on my side and immediately thought, "I just broke a rib".
Irony: Earlier today posted on a thread about how my LF Witness allows me to go bigger.
Treatment: Felt like going to ER but Doctor Dad said there is little they could do.
What I learned: don't force progression, get warmed up, gotta pay to play.
Expected return: whenever Murray's demo board gets here.

Rib injuries are very common, I found that out a year ago when I cracked mine and everyone at the contest showed me their misplaced ribs. It hurts like a bugger and will be with you for awhile, good luck.

do the vests marketed as impact vests actually help with this, Jet Pilot A-10 and Falcon or the Oneill Boost? Ive never ridden with one of these vests.

The vest that i think has the most rib protection is the Oneill Vapor. I slammed hard on the ribs, even on rails, and it helped so much.

I Cracked my ribs last summer. Whoa man was I in pain about days 3 through 14. I was learning to jump in my sweet hydroslide with crappy bindings. Anyways, I now know that bindings with no heel hold cause a lot of face plants.

That was my lesson learned. 07 factions now
