Lately, almost every time i want to go ride, i have to practically beg my crew to go. If its not one excuse its another. It kills me because all i want to do is go ride and even just getting a 3rd is impossible sometimes, like today. Its ridiculous.

I don't know, but if I were in your crew I'd jump at the opportunity to ride behind your malibu. I think also some people are wussies when it comes to the temperatures cooling down. If your willing to drive a couple hours to the bay area I always ride on Sundays at berryessa in the fall/winter. PM me if you want.

Are you horribly disfigured? Do you smell like cheese?

Sounds like your friends are dumb. I've found that many folks who smoke a lot of Ganj are relatively unmotivated. If this is a factor get some new friends. You are bound to find folks that are as psyched as you, just wear wakeboard apparal 24/7 they will come out of the woodwork. Also put up a sign at the local shops.

Have you tried posting in the find a third part of the forum ? If not try it and hook up with a new crew.

Bring the ganj. If you bring it, they will come.

It's either you or them, but since you have a boat, my bet is it is them. Find a new crew. I have good friends that dont like wakeboarding, but I also have a crew of boarders I'm good friends with as well...

for me i live in the middle of nowhere. so there are fewer people interested in wakeboarding.

Where I'm from very few people have herd of it (before they had talked to me that is) or keep confusing it with skim boarding. I remember once I was talking to this guy about what I thought was wakeboarding and his repose was " I hate wakeboarding once I was riding at the beach and I triped and fell and landed on a sea urchin" I've also herd "I love to take my wakeboard in the ocean because it is realy rough and windy" I just remember being like ok????? Then again their are some people that I've met who realy do know what it is, but just arn't all that into it for some reason.

I had the same problem because I like to ride a lot, so I posted on find a 3rd and it worked pretty good for me.

Mine wife thinks it's funny too, She tells me not to bring home any diseases, lol. But at least I'm riding rather than sitting home listening to stupid excuses. If my friends want to go, they can go too.

Get your lady on the boat by herself and spend the entire day training her how to be as good a puller as you. Then, whenever your out with the crew, have her pull all day - so she gets lots of wheel time.
Then when you cant get a third - happens to me occasionally, just have your lady pull you - solo flight. Just hope you dont get a ticket, and your all good.

I feel your pain. But my problem is having guys/girls pitch in for gas/launch. Kinda irrelevent now. My summer was cut short. Spending the next 4 months stuck in Kuwait. I like the sand but no lakes and no gorgeous women.

What's worked for us is to get together a group that includes several boat owners (5 out of 12). The boat owners all know what it's like to try and get a crew together and like going out on each others boats (bit of a rest). We've made sure that all regular crew learn to drive as well.

Think it can also pay to consider going outside the people you normally socialise with - they can often be more reliable.

I know what you mean. I am new to wakeboarding and got into it late. I am 37 and have been boarding for three months on my days off work. My brother is my main wakeboarding buddy and we have got a few friends into the sport as well. Every weekend I have to call everyone and see if they are coming. Anyway Friday we were waiting in the marina for the third person to arrive when he sends me a text message saying he went out and got wrecked so he can not make it. SO my brother and I are looking around the harbor trying to see if we see someone who looks like they might like a ride on the boat or a pull. In the end I got annoyed and we went out on our own. In the end we were ok boarding with just two people, one driving, one riding. I have gone out and bought a board, boat and all the gear you need and all they have to do is turn up!!!

Is any one in western washington having this problem? Seems we have the worst weather now and its impossible to find a pull. Most people only go out a few hrs and it would take me more than that just to drive there. If I could only find some one closer. I hate that I dont have a boat. I agree that tha ganj takes all motivation.

Jess- no problems for me, you gotta pay your dues by riding whenever you are needed all summer long then in the winter it seems like its easier to get a pull because not everyone wants to go out. As a matter a fact there was a request for a 2nd and a 3rd on sammamish this morning on the other thread. You just need to keep your eyes out if you want to ride.

Kellen, I felt the same as you. I posted on the Find a 3rd, and I've had the opportunity to meet and ride with some really cool cats. My entire regular crew don't like cold water. You'll find some hardcore folks just as excited as you are in the other forum.
