Hey guys, My 08 Malibu LSV's swim step mat is horrible. Its splitting at the edges, has chips taken out of it, and the black is faded to an ugly grey. Its time to change the pad.

I did a search here but most of the threads are pretty old. I saw SeaDek got some good reviews, and it looks like if I use them it will be around $240 with the Malibu logo. Has anyone had SeaDek for a while and If so what do you think? Does anyone have other recommendations? And for anyone who has done this replacement, is there any hidden issues that caught you by surprise while changing the pad?

Thanks in advance!

Just took a look at those, those look pretty legit with some custom designs!

I just did my Nautique this year super easy install.

Also had a cover made to keep direct sun off it.

I've had a Seadek pad on my boat since 08, still looks great. The hardest part of changing it out is getting all of the glue off from the old pad.

Txjole, did you also get those thin stepping pads from Seadek also? The whole set up looks great.

X2 for seadek changed mine last year. The hardest part is removing the old pad and glue.I used a heat gun to help get the old pad off and some acetone to remove the glue.

I really like the faux teak, I wish that had been available when I got my pad.

I'm going to have to call them because my LSV has a small padded step in the middle between the sun pad and swim step. That little pad is the same as the big swim step and that would have to match to look good. My boat is blue and silver, so I'm thinking of going with the platinum faux teak.

I made one for my custom platform. I bought some "high impact flooring" from a local sporting goods store, the stuff people put under treadmills and such.

Costs about 30 bucks total. All you need is some 3m double sided tape and a very sharp razor.
