I met Shaun about 5 years ago and was able to get to ride and get some tips from him way back then. I also brought along a few things to have him autograph. I'm in the process of moving and found them neatly tucked away for safe keeping. The mag is an issue of Racer X that he was featured in and well everyone know the game by now...

That's very cool. If I could choose what to sign, my copy of Wakeboarding Unleashed would be among them.

You need to put those in shadowbox frames, Son.

can I play? This is one of the odder things I had signed. It seems appropriate to include my stash of autographed nelson boards as well.

Knowing absolutely nothing about wakeboarding, I once randomly ordered a copy of Detention from Overton's.
That was it. Detention was my point of entry into the world of wakeboarding. Then when I eventually went
to The Boarding School when it first opened up, my old VHS copy of Detention was the only thing I brought
for Shaun to sign.

I'm not at home so I will post the picture later, but Shaun was in New Haven, IN for a clinic. I found out about it late so I didn't have my board with me. All I had was my Washburn acoustic guitar. I think he was as amazed that I wanted him to sign it as I was to have it signed by him. He went into his RV and grabbed his guitar and said the only way he would sign it is if I sat down and jammed out for a bit. An hour later he finally signed it. I will defintely never forget that.
