I have never listened to him before but they just put him on the radio around here so I listened in the car just to get a feel. What a pecker this guy is. A complete fear monger.

Now I am pretty much down the middle leaning different ways on different issues, an this might not be the case but I have never heard a lefty station that is that far removed from realityIDEid not get a chance to listen to air America). Are there any out there? I woulda like to get a feel for the idiots that are on the other end of the insanity spectrum.

There's a distinct difference between Limbaugh and Olberman.

Limbaugh's die hard listeners hold onto every word as if God is using Rush to deliver his message. Limbaugh is seen as a major face in the conservative movement.

Olberman gives views from the left. His show is okay, but you'll be hard-pressed to find anyone that takes it too seriously. Maher is much more entertaining and insightful.

You don't think people think what oberman says is gospel? The progressive part of the democrat party loves that guy. Basically the nancy pelosi/ howard dean (progressive) part of the democrat party align very well with oberman. They are the one's who still are trying to get Bush brought up on war crimes trials and things like that. Most of the talking points you boys have been putting out for the last 6 years had been pretty much directly from the oberman's of the party. Try going to democracticunderground.com if you want to see who people think the democrats are. BTW, they have oberman video clips up almost everyday.

LOL, Just got out from getting two root canals and get to look at the responses.

I have not seen Olberman since his ESPN days (Other than his worthless little segment on Sunday Night Football), I will have to listen to him ramble sometime...

I do like this though

I agree with Brett, not sure what Kennedy has to do with Limbaugh other than the fact that they are both scum and both shoulda been locked up.Booohoooo prescription drugs

Prescription drugs are a MAJOR problem. That is the drug of choice these days for kids and are only going top become more available. If Limbaugh really wanted to do some good he would have used his problems to talk to his base who are supposed to be the moral and religious members of society to combat the issue. Of course I am assuming that he did not do this as I have never heard of anything of the sort.

On the same token, maybe Kennedy shoulda taught swim lessons at the local YMCA...

mexibro was clearly using the Kennedy metaphor to compare the "GOP HERO" to the "LIBERAL HERO". I think it was a very, very relevant comparison. not sure how you guys can't see that.

I think Limbaugh did. Matter of fact I saw him on someone's TV show talking about the addiction, the hearing loss and the whole nine yards.

Just for fun, read what kind of nice people that listen to oberman have to say about political opponents.

Assuming someone that thinks Limbaugh is a piece of garbage is a liberal is what's the problem. Limbaugh is an extremist, and I know a lot of conservatives who also thinks he is an ass-clown. I just get annoyed with ignorant assumptions and people being so quick to label others lib/cons too often. I would hope most Repubs don't consider Limbaugh any kind of "GOP HERO". The guys is a piece of garbage imo.

Its not conservatives or republicans that label Rush as the leader of the GOP, it is the libs and dems. Rush and most republicans I know consider him just a personality, much like an olberman or maher. Show me one time where Rush has claimed he is a leader in the GOP? Rush is just a blow hard, he speaks to his fans cause thats what makes him the $$ plain and simple.

The thing about Limbaugh is that whether or not you agree with him, he does bring up good points. However, his partisan rhetoric and hateful talking always winds up distracting people from when he's making points, and he winds up invalidating his good points with the random babble that has no bearing on anything.

Then there's Ann Coulter who does the same thing.

Then there's Sean Hannity, who frankly, 95 percent of the time sounds like a complete idiot.

The only "conservative"s that I will even listen to from time to time are Bill O'Reilly (who contrary to popular belief, has not said many of the things that much of the left hates him for saying. He had an entire episode devoted to the lies about what he's said and the stretches of his words that liberals in the government and media have made about him. Yes he's an arrogant , but he's not half as bad as what most Democrats think he is) and Glenn Beck. Beck may be eccentric at times, but he is like that because he knows that eccentricity can bring in viewers, and the more viewers he has, the easier it will be for him to spread the stuff that he says that is spot on. Whether or not you agree with you, when you look at a lot of the stuff he says, he's spot on with it, and it's incredible. He predicted the economic situation we are in now years ago, and he does put a large chunk of the weight of that on Bush, despite his status as a "conservative" just because he's on Fox News now.

They always take out 40% for bonuses. At the end of the year, you will be taxed based on income and most likely recover a portion of the 40%. It keeps the worst case from happening which is they take out a small amount and you end up owing a couple of grand.

People have been telling me this for years. I have a family own a house make a good living and I'm still pretty liberal. Yeah, wouldn't the world be great if we didn't have any taxes, no police, no streets, no fire department, no prisons, etc etc.. Taxes is the price we all pay to live in a civil society. Now, I can understand taxing to much but have your taxes actually gone up under a "socialist" president? Have you lost your guns yet? Has obama even mentioned taking away guns? My taxes haven't gone up and I still have my guns. I can't understand why all these rednecks are worried about losing their guns.

Limbaugh and Coulter are scum.

Jimmy, it is a case of monitary policy and the right for self determination. It is not about paying taxes. Most agree there needs to be some taxes. Conservatives people tend to realize that more money in the hands of private citizen's is much, much better for job creation. Actually, it is pretty much a proven fact. As far as has your taxes gone up under the socialist president, the answer is no at the time. If he was listening to his progressive base (from which is part of), then we would be paying high taxes. The more programs you move under the government the more your tax absolutely have to go up to support. The demorcrats have made a great run by demonizing the "rich" and up until John Kerry ran for president, the rich were anyone making $100,000 or more. They did not get the memo but $100,000 was many of their union workers. They moved the boogey man mark to $250,000 so they can get a few more generations of hate before they catch that level. Problem with the $250,000 mark is they pay over 90% of the taxes and that level starts hitting many of the small business owners who the democrats used to prop up as the back bone of the country. Of course, they don't tell you that majority of the small businesses are set up to sell good's to larger corporations or people who work for larger corps. At this point the "rich" and what is considered middle class have murged. You can not get more blood out of the turnups called the rich but you can not afford to burden the middle class more or your bound to collapse. We now have 401k's for retirement that used to only be a tool of the rich. Now everyone has them. Hard to pound that nail for taxes now.

At the end of the day; the more you move large programs to the federal level, the more expensive they get. They get greatly generalized and ineffecient. That is proven over and over.

On guns, the democrats continue that assult. They banned many weapons and in california they banned even more. The congressional democrats say they want to ban more (feinstein said it last year). Fortunately for us, the stats prove over and over again bans do not deter crime and the middle of the road democrats are against gun control as well. Many on the left believe that the gun issue may have cost them Al Gore as president. So, they know it is a loosing issue even though they still would like to ban them and will do so as soon they feel they have the political capital to do so. Instead, they have been waging a much quieter war against ammunition. They are trying to make it so costly to sell ammo, that they hope to drive them out of the mainstream. They recently in california made anyone selling ammo in california have to keep records and keeping them for so many years on who they sold ammo too and also make special provisions on how to be able to display ammo that is for sale.

"Rednecks" worried about loosing their guns? I wonder when that has been ok to use racism and classism to justify the liberal point of view? That's right, they have always used racism and classism to get their message accross. If you put out facts and not emotions, the liberal arguments pretty much fail. Thus, that answers Manzo's original question as why there are not liberal radio shows. When push comes to shove the talking points are pretty much hateful emotional drivel. The monetary policy and social facts do not add up when spoken out loud. Have you noticed most of the liberal tv shows have to resort to comedy to keep an audiance?

You should study Senate Bill 357 in California where a senator wants all ammo to have a serial number. Ever think about how much the price would go up? From what I've read, Pelosi wants to make that a national law. Also, the military can no longer sell their scrap to bullet manufacturers, so ammo will probably go up. No, there will be no outright banning of guns. Liberals are too smart for that, but they can make owning a gun or ammo affordable only to a select few. Also, the social programs, such as the crazy check program for example, are killing our schools. For instance, a friend of mine who teaches had a student (6th grade) make straight A's for the first time. The student was elated. The next day, however, the student returned to school with tears in his eyes. When asked by the teacher what the problem was, the student replied, "I got a spanking for making all A's. Momma says that if I do well in school, then I won't be able to get my check." I don't mind paying taxes, but so much of the government's money is wasted and does more harm than good because people take advantage of it. It's time for that to stop no matter who's in charge.

Uh. THe californian version is a fact. Basically, it made internet sales for handgun ammo illegal in california. So, yes by defacto, it does take away ammo from buyers in california. You don't know how this stuff works do you? They keep coming up with little nuances here and there and make it more and more expensive to get it. The issue of the military not being able to give away the old brass is true. The fact of california mandating record keeping and storage requirements is absolutely true. The fact that california has a seperate ban on "assult weapons" than the rest of the country is ABSOLUTELY TRUE. Which state does most of the countries liberals tend to look too for ideas? California. What state is Nancy Pelosi from?

Jimmy, if you read the article closely, even the researcher does not know the total cost. This is a classic example of a company profiting from a potential law. To me, the ones proposing the serial numbers could potentially benefit financially if this were to pass. This is the kind of behavior that needs to be stopped. Even if it did only raise the cost $2.50, to me it's a waste of my money. The story about the kid is 100% true. I'm not trying to spread fear. Ask a public school teacher who has been in the business for awhile, or better yet, sit in a classroom sometime, and I think you'll be surprised at what you will learn. Some courts are so liberal now school administrators and teachers cannot perform their jobs because of the fear of a lawsuit and it's the average kid who pays the price.

First off, I agree on your cost opinions... I don't want to pay more taxes anymore than you do.

"Internet sales for ammo illegal in california."

Umm, excuse me but that's probably a good thing. All we need is some high school kid buying up a ton of ammo and puling another columbine.

I'm all for guns, and I own several myself but I don't want people to be able to purchase this stuff online with the anonymity of the web. At least present an ID in person.

And could you please point me to any recent docs regarding Californias senate bill 357? All the references I'm finding are old and as far as I can tell it's a dead bill.

obama has signed two that were put in with other bills he really wanted to sign and did not want to risk losing over a gun issue. One is to allow for carrying in national parks and the other allows you to check a gun for baggage on AMTRAK. You have always been able to do it on airlines.

How many rounds does it take to do a mass shooting. Most I have ever heard about happened with less than 100 rounds shot. That is just a couple boxes. Talk about fear mongering. Hate to tell you but internet sales typically require a credit card which kind of gives them your name.

This is the most objective link I found for the reasoning behind the serial numbers. The problem has existed forever. What is good for California may not be good for the rest of the country. As a result, responsible citizens who just want to protect their property and hunters may now have to suffer the consequences. By putting a serial number on bullets will not stop "gang" members from killing us or themselves. Society needs to look at the root of the problem instead of profiting from it. http://ag.ca.gov/newsalerts/print_release.php?id=390

It's more feel-good window dressing- Serializing ammunition will do absolutely no good in solving gun crimes.
1.Crooks will use revolvers which leave no spent cartridge.
2. The serialized ammunition can easily be modified by removing the serial number.
3. Microstamping the weapon won't work because 30 seconds and a fingernail file will remove the microstamp.

'Ballistic fingerprint' is, for the most part, television fantasy. Barrel markings will change with each consecutive projectile send down the barrel because each bullet leaves deposits. They MAY be able to get a fairly solid match if the firearm was recovered before it can be shot again and they were able to recover the projectile that was last shot.

Having someone show up in person with a multiple forms of identification is much stronger security than allowing people to buy bullets over the internet. It's another layer in the onion.

Limbaugh and Coulter from time to time are bomb throwers. They do this many times to get people to wake up and get involved. Hannity gives his opinion from the right. O'Reilly from center-right. But Nick, when you make statements that these people are complete idiots, I view you as a left wing extremist elitist who has little or no credibility. These people are not stupid. Just as I don't view left wing people like Oberman as stupid. They just have a different worldview of what the United States should be and what is best for America.

If I were to say, Obama, Oberman, Pelosi, and Reid were totally braindead; you would probably have the same opinion of me.

Jimmy, I take that as a compliment, my liberal friend. At this point of a conversation--when presented with facts--most of my liberal friends result to name calling or talking about how Bush invaded Iraq. The key is states' rights. If states were given their right to govern back--the it was some years ago--if someone didn't like one set of rules, he/she could move.

The argument is not multiple pieces of identification. The argument is an ID and ID's are forged daily. Bottom line is, they know for a fact it won't stop anyone from buying ammo. All anyone has to do is drive the 3 hrs over to Reno, NV and buy a truck load or even start doing reloads. It is just a stupid law to make ammo more expensive for the common citizen. Matter of fact it would not suprise me that the ammo manufacturers/ retailers sponsored the bills to drive up the cost.

Overall the whole thing is stupid. They don't even require an ID to vote and we have illegals voting that is more dangerous to our country than making it illegal to buy ammo out of state.

What we should do is extend there unemployment checks longer that should get them out looking"

Oh, we weren't talking about Obama, Olberman, Pelosi and Reid. They are completely braindead as well. Hannity is a flat out moron. I'm conservative, and frankly, I cannot stand the majority of the conservative pundits.

And Strib, please, please, please tell me where I said that O'Reilly, Beck, and Limbaugh were idiots? Hannity is an idiot. The others, not so much. I even pointed out Limbaugh's status as a bomb thrower, and you cannot deny that because of his inflammatory statements, a lot of his words wind up being invalidated.

I even defended O'Reilly and Beck, if you read my post.

I almost called you an idiot out of habit for completely missing everything that I said in my post (because that's what happens nearly every time I get into a debate with someone on the other side of the political spectrum, they ignore my words and take things out of context = idiot IMO), but I'm not calling you one, because I understand that you probably misread it.

I find it really funny that you thought I was liberal or something, ahahahahahahahahaha.
