Ok, right now I'm running about 90W RMS to 2 Alpine type R 6X9's. Today I blew one. Anyone know of a good set of 6X9's, that can handle the power? I can hear these at 70' (not well, but you can hear the music). I would like to maintain or improve that.

Thanks,

Robb

Thanks Greg,

If I get the MMC690's, can I mount the crossover in the boat? Or does it need to be closer to the speaker?

The Pioneer 6x9s that everyone raved about are well worth the money. I have 3 sets on my tower, with another set coming and I love them. Loud, good quality, nice sound. About $50-70 a set.

PIONEER TS-A6991S

Luke, I had those. Didn't like them. The Alpines actually sounded much better. Thanks though. Maybe mine sat on a shelf way too long. (Yes, I know that won't hurt them, it was a joke).

I have 4 audiobahn 6x9's with horns and I am sending 125 RMS to each speaker. I only ride at 65' but can hear them loud and clear at that length! They can be found on ebay for pretty cheap but they are power hungry...120 RMS...I really think I should be giving them around 150 RMS but oh well.

I like my Boston Accoustic's NX-97 I think was the model #. Kinda pricey but sound really good.
