little rippers

Hey, just looking for any advice getting the children started on a wakeboard. I have a 5yr old and 3yr old. We got them a board last summer and my 5 yr old was a stoked to get the board, but wouldn't try it. My 3yr old (who was 2-1/2 last summer) tried it. He went with me on my board and also tried tried his own board after we were up. Any good suggestions to starting the kids?

Keep it simple and fun...kids get tired and bored pretty easy and if you try to push them when they aren't having fun they will totally shut down and not want to ride anymore. The experience a kid gets from riding a board early in life will help their progression later on so much its nutty. Start them without fins also to teach them edging early...if they've never ridden with fins how will the know the difference? Here is a link to a vid of my buddy's 8 year old hitting our fun box...no fins, he pulls w2w 180's and is working on his backrolls!

My little bro just turned 6, and he started last year and is always stoked to ride! I started him out riding on my board first to get a idea of riding on water and then he just tried getting up and been going strong from there!
