Watson Substance Vs New Watson

So I'm riding an old 04 LF Substance, the one designed by/for Watson or whatever, and I'm wondering what kind of differences there are between it and one of his newer pro model boards. Is it a distinctly different ride, or is it similar? As far as I've read, the differences between the 07 and the 08 primarily have to do with material and weight, so if anyone has any information on the differences no matter the year, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I ride the 06 Substance, and the Substance shape has not changed since 04 (I m almost positive) I have also rode the Watson quite a bit, and there is a big difference in between the two boards. The watson is looser when not on edge, it lands a LOT softer, it is a little bit faster, and I also think that it pops better too. In fact, I will probably be buying a Watson this season (the new 08 looks sick in person!)

i was in the same position you are this fall. I had a crack in my old watson substance and switch and got a 07 watson. I absolutely love my 07 watson, the landings are SUPER soft.

I used to ride a substance and loved it, but switched to a PS3 which is even better. It feels a lot like the substance, but is waaaay poppier, and has really soft landings. if you get a chance to try one i'd go for it.

Hmm, I guess I'll be demoing some boards come spring... If I find an 08 Watson for a good deal I'll probably buy it, but if not, I'll look into the PS3 as well.

Does anyone know if there is a big difference between the 07 and 08 Watson boards? It'll be a difference of around 150 dollars to get the newer one over the older one, what do you guys recommend? Sorry for the double post.

Pretty sure the only difference is the graphic. I used to ride the 06, the first "Watson" and really liked it. I don't think they've changed the shape yet.

i'm pretty sure they change shapes every three years. this is the third year of this shape. i wander if he's coming out with a new design for next season?
