06 X1 Head Unit Replacement

Hey guys,

I posted this on Team Talk but wanted to get some of your opinions...

Basically, our stock Clarion CMD4 Head Unit needs to be replaced, but I have no idea what to pick up, or what would make for an easy swap-out install. I was thinking the Clarion CMD7 which can be had for about 200 on Amazon, but on TeamTalk they were saying I would need a new remote for it. Our remote still works so I'd like to avoid replacing it if possible. Also, the M309 was suggested.

if someone could point me in the right direction that'd be awesome; I don't know much about stereos and know for sure that theres people on this board that really do!
