For me the LSV. The Star is too small in the cabin and I'm not a massive fan of the pickle fork visually. From what I have read I think the LSV wake gets bigger quicker with ballast, but when both are fully weighted the wake performance is a toss up.

Ian lol still checking out the red just not sold on it yet. Looking at a few other options. And yes I know it's a great deal just don't want to rush into something because of price. That being said I'm on your site twice a day lately.

I researched this topic before buying an LSV. If you want a hard core wakeboard boat, you buy an x-star - if you want something to wake, surf, cruise big water, and carry a lot of people - get the LSV. Seems to me that the x-star probably makes the best wake for wakeboarding if you load it down. LSV has good boarding and surf wake. LSV is also more plush and will give a better ride on rough water. Can't go wrong either way - ride in both and choose.

For resale, an X-Star is always going to be good if you got the right deal upfront. Noone gets their name out there like MC, and that's why they have soooooo many loyal followers. Overall, it's a good boat that is recognized more often than any other.

I own a 2008 X-Star. It handles great, probably better than many other boats (next to an Epic or 210 Nautique) and the wake can be outright mackin', when loaded right....but I think it lacks in a few areas that others have dialed in a little better. For quality/value and still having a great wake, Bu is really one of the best. I actually like the VLX better than the 24 Bu cause the 24 is so big, but both rock a great wake, which really is the number 1 factor. The auto wedge on the new ones will drop your gas bill by 30%...and get you on plan that much faster as well. That's a big deal.

I learn something new with every new boat on what I like and don't like. Check out some of the boat reviews for what people are saying. Repeated statements from various reviewers can weed through the bs posted by dealers and those that get a boat for free.

With the right deal and dealer to back it up, you can't go wrong either way.

Flight, I like the question. If people can keep it from a slam-fest I think you are comparing two of the best boats out there.

The X-star does a couple things incredibly well, namely throw a huge wake and look awesome on the water. Personally I think they are a little small in the cockpit and require a lot weight to make a good wake. Now when you do stack it you get arguably the best wake in the industry.

The LSV is a big boat inside and out. For me there is something about rolling around the lake in a big plush boat. Like driving a luxury SUV. With all that space it becomes easy to stack weight and the wake gets scary big when you do.

All things considered I would go with the LSV. I just like all the space whether you want ballast for wake or space for a dance party. I've never had anything but great experiences with both boats, how do you choose between your top two? Now to afford my tastes...

I agree with most on here...Both boats are at the top of the game. Biggest thing for me was the room in the boat. LSV is alot bigger in the interior. I looked at alot of X-Stars online because they are my version of boat porn but once they show the interior it is really small in my opinion.

i own a malibu but its the vlx, if i were gonna choose the wake between the lsv vs the MC i would go with the MC, really clean wake and a nice boat all around.

Another X Star here. First and foremost the wake, second, the bow, snap out carpet is big for me, I don't even usually have the carpet in the boat, tower height for me is also important, the Illusion is too short, I don't like ducking, MC board racks are better. I normally have four or five in the cabin with no problem, so interior is big enough for me.

To own, an LSV, I hate flat front boats, what a stupid design, and an LSV is definitely roomier. To ride behind, an X Star no doubt

"From what I have read I think the LSV wake gets bigger quicker with ballast, "

not even close.

If you want more room for the whole crew to hang out, get your LSV, if riding is what you care most about, and you want a gnarley wake, you can't beat the Xstar.

Also, slam them both down and the Xstar will drive circles around the LSV. It's a fact

I got a 06 Star and like the boat a lot. My friend has and LSV and its an OK boat. It sure does have more space than mine. It feels like a stretch limo. The wake behind the star is nicer than the LSV. He road behind mine last year slammed and told me to take some weight out, it scared him. I think they ride about the same in the water. I think the Star might be a little smother in the chop, but not by much.

I own an X-Star...awesome wake, soft ride, TONS of stoarage space, sexy as it gets, loaded to the gills. Great all around boat. Probably not as much room as some other boat layouts...but if you primarily wakeboard...I wouldn't have anything else.

except a pontoon.

XStar !!
removable carpet, resale, board racks, the bling in MC looks better in 2 years of use vs. Bu. IMO
The BU does have more room and is a very nice boat with some awesome features. I just like the XStar better. Surprised?
