perhaps in the wild forrest of new zealand or the galapagos island, where they have grown that way to hide from the giant turtles.

I feel your pain. I am not a big fan of the EVA either. It took me forever to find a rubber grip handle that wasn't made with poly rope.

I finally found one from Accurate at one of the local shops. I haven't seen another one since. I don't believe I have ever seen a caron handle without EVA?
