great game tonight. I love October baseball.
I was telling my wife that the name Buster will be the most popular name for new boys in the next five years in the Bay Area. she said, "who, that 15 year old right there?" that kid is a gamer.

lets all root for a Giants/Yankees series. get some tradition in the WS again!!

Brian Wilson has ice water in his veins. Should be given Cy Young this year!

should be a great series

Rangers have some magic happening of their own!

here are a couple of interesting tidbits:

I would play hard for an owner like that!

go Rangers!

No dought Cliff congrads to your Rangers!!
I worship Nolan Ryan !
That 46 year old man made Robin Ventura look like Ru Paul.
What a great series this is gonna be.
Heres a few more Nolan Ryan tid bits.
Played 27 years pro ball.
Jersey was retired by 3 teams.
Served in the army reserve while playing pro ball.
Struck out 7 different father -sons combinations.
Nobody i mean nobody put the fear into a batter more then Nolan Ryan.
In a high school playoff game in one inning he broke the first players arm. Next pitch broke a players helmet, and the third batter
appauled to his coach for mercy, but eventually mustered the nerve to stand in and strike out on 3 pitches.
One major leauger claimed to have received a concussion from one of his change-ups.
Reggie Jackson was quoted as saying he was scared to face Ryan,
One month after no-hitting the royals he no hit the Tigers and Norm Cash was the last batter. He originally entered the batters box holding a piano leg.
I have many fond memories of watching him pitch for my beloved Angels in the 70's. They were the worst hitting club. He lost a lot of games becuase of no run support.

"Brian Wilson has ice water in his veins. Should be given Cy Young this year! '

absolutely love to watch brian wilson pitch, but lets not get too crazy about thinking he deserves a cy young award. you had two guys with 20 wins and sub 2.5 era's with over 200 k's. I think the cy young goes to one of those guys.

as much as I disliked barrys giants, I do think this team is a great story, and I hope they knock off the rangers.

yep. and I still stand by what I said! haha.
I have not seen Cliff Lee get knocked around like that for a couple of months now. yikes. oh well. if the giants win the WS, that just means Cliff is that much more likely to go play for my yanks!

does freddy sanchez really havew 4 doubles tonight? my goodness! most people forget he won a batting title a few years back with Pittsburgh, but 4 doubles in a game is ridiculous.

So nice to see them take the first one and Stomp on the Rangers a lil bit. Really gets them some good momentum.

as a band wagon fan, I think that I can safely speak for DFW without having Ranger goggles on. The Giants are a great ball club. I normally don't pay attention to baseball in October and it is fun to see all of the talent on both sides of home plate.

The Rangers will come back and make this a fairly competitive series.

Cliff Lee had games like that this summer, so it's no real surprise that he is even human in the playoffs. I would be willing to bet that he will be in his zone game 5.

Win or lose, Rangers fans are proud. We finally have new owners and a desire to win. There is a feeling around here that we will field a competitive team for years to come. That's a new thing for us.

unlike game 1 against the Yankees, the Giants beat our ars. congrats!

bring on game 5....I'm takin the family

As someone who really couldn't care less about pro basball typically, I agree! And one of the best games I've ever been to was a Rangers home game - love that stadium.

Great pitching stops good hiting anytime. Congrats so far, but this is a long way from over yet. There is no way that it will go this way in Texas. I would be happy if we win game 4 or 5 in texas.

Everyone thought Halliday would take down Lincecum. They were wrong.
Everyone thought the Phillies had too many big bats for SF to handle. They were wrong again.
Everyone thought the Phillies would win the series. Nope, sorry.

Sound familiar?

Cain is such a beast. Wish they could have him pitch all 7 haha. Hopefully they keep rolling in Texas. Hoping for a sweep but it would be epic to end it in SF.

Toughest crowd in baseball @ AT&T park. No dought. You have angry 49er and Raider fans. Last night the dead even got into the act. A fan brought his deceased fathers ashes in a urn to the park and had it on the fence when Kinslers home run kicked back into the playing field. No BS !

That's a bunch of BS. Kinsler never hit a HR.

Uh, the ball hit the top of the wall and fell back into the field of play. That's not a home run.

Exactly the ball hit the top of the fence and switched directions
Old     (scott_a)      Join Date: Dec 2002       10-29-2010, 7:15 PM Reply
You do realize that a home run is when you hit the ball OVER the fence, right?
Old     (ttrigo)      Join Date: Dec 2004       10-29-2010, 8:31 PM Reply
the ball hit the top part of the fence, and came back onto the field of play. might as well have short hopped the fence. same outcome.
shocked about this series does not even begin to sum up my thoughts about this at all.

One more baby! I am guessing Bochy will run the same line-up today. It is all up to Timmy and the defense.

congrats Giants fans. The Rangers were beat fair and square by a better team. The Giants deserve it. They were a pleasure to watch.

BUT!!!!

The Texas Rangers were playing baseball in November! I honestly thought that that would never happen. We are SO proud of what this team has become that you won't be hearing any excuses from Texas.

most years the Rangers don't play any relevant baseball past the all star break. Now, it's relevant baseball in November!!!!

congrats again.......

now, go out and do the right thing......REMOVE PELOSI !!!!!!!!!!!

Wow! Thank you giants! Pablo Sandoval get on your treadmill and ride. We need you! I hope Z is ready next year and not in it for the money. Thank you Barry Bonds for the memories and without you we probibly would not be here. God Bless Pat the bat you lifted us and carried us when we needed your bat most. Brian Wilson was lights out, Cody Ross shut - up the loud abnouxious Phillies fans. Renteria all though you did not play for 80% of time you were under contract when it counted most you were there and lead us to the promissed land. Buster Posey with all those years of experience you made it look so easy, Thank you Bengie Molina for all your patience and teaching the young one's and being the leader in the bad years. Nate Sherholtz gunned down oppozing runers and gave 110% when called upon. Darren Ford no at bats and won the game offensively by stealing 2 bases and going home on a wild pitch. Giants are the best baseball team in the world!!

Congratulations to the Giants and their fans! Nice to have the World Champions back on the west coast and from the NL West. That was one hell of a late season run and w/ young talented pitching it should carry forward. Congrats!
