The A-10 is a great vest and keeps you afloat just fine!!

It will not even float a cat but it sure is comfy.

It is neutrally buoyant...you will not sit as high in the water as with a CGA. Great vest and light weight.

Flotation helper.... exactly. Helps you float at eye level...

Get the white one so you friends can see you better under the water when you sink.

Super comfortable. Floats me at eye level, which means my mouth and nose are under water, which means I can't breathe. If you are into that, more power to you.

TeamValdez, whats your weight. Sounds to me that it all depends on your weight, from what I have read

Floats me well enough. Definitely more than being sans vest. It can get you a ticket if you're on a public waterway.

The A-10 will not float you at all if you are knocked out. Sure these non-CGA vests are more comfortable, but life means more to me than comfort.

So why would you wear a vest at all if you're just going to wear an A-10??

I can't speak for everyone, but there is no way I would sink with an A-10 on. The vest provides enough flotation to make it easy to stabilize yourself while waiting for the boat to pull you up. And it provides a degree of impact protection.

I don't know of any vest that will keep your mouth and nose out of the water if you are knocked out. I won't discount the possibility that some people are natural sinkers, so maybe it isn't appropriate for them.

Please let me reiterate my first response. The A-10 is a comp vest. It is not Coast Guard approved. My boys are just that... boys. Would I suggest recreational riding for bigger adults in an A-10? No. but Jet Pilot has some awesome CGA vests.

I wear the A-10 because i am less likely to sink if i get hurt, however if i breathe out i sink. As long as your friends are paying attention and will notice any problems you will ok cause they will get to you in time. Love the vest though, can't even feel it when your boarding.

I got an A-10 and my nose is usually under water with it. I weight about 145 and i haven't got much fat on me so I'am going to be just as far under as anyone else.

I have personally found that "chunkier" people float more and muscular people float less with this vest. I ride with an A-10 and find that I get floated around eye level as well(standing on board in water). The vest does much better with impact absorbtion than no vest.

Ultimately it depends on your perogative: safety or mobility.

IMHO the A-10 skews toward mobility while offering some safety rather than not wearing anything.

gd hit the nail on the head. mobility isn't really an issue with a good uscg vest.

The A-10 is a great vest, and it floats great for such a thin and light vest
