Bad Vibration when throttling Centurion Enzo 230

I recently had a demo of a 2004 Centurion ENZO 230V. When I throttled the boat to speed, it had a distinct vibration that seemed unusual, however, I have never driven a Centurion. The dealer told me it was normal of the Centurion and the Vdrive. Is this true and do any of you who own this model experience alot of vibration?
The boat is priced right but the vibration scares me.

Shouldnt vibrate really at all dude. Normally that means bend prop or drive shaft. Also, ask if its a stainless steel prop, if the even get the slightest ding they vibrate real bad, but no it shouldnt vibrate to where it seems unusual

plus salesmen will tell u anything to sell u the boat, cause after the deal is through and u find out whats really wrong with it, its ur problem not theirs

Vibration is not normal. If you can feel any then somthing is wrong I 2nd what John Doe said.

G or John do either one of you own a Centurion? I feel there is something wrong as well. It vibrated so bad you could feel it on your feet through the floor of the hull.

Steven, I have an '04 Enzo SV230 and she is smooth as silk. ANY vibration in the driveline means something is not right. Should be either a dinged or bent prop (ask him to put another one on just to demo it), or the prop shaft could be bent, for starters. The dealer telling you that normally Centurions and V-drives vibrate is full of s@*t. Is this a towboat dealer? His comment is so laughable and fraudulent I would run the other way. We love our Centurion and she has been trouble-free (BTW, it came from a dealer north of Little Rock; Just curious, is the boat you demo'd solid red?). Everyone who rides on our boat really loves it. I agree with everyone above. Don't do business with a dealer that would blatantly lie to you. Any vibration you can feel will eventually do damage to the boat.

It is also potentially due to rudder, steeting cable or steering rack and pinion. I had a Moomba that was really bad especially if the steering wheel was not centered. Dealer and factory insisted that it was natural and inherent in the steering components. My 07 Enzo has no vibration.

If everything else is straight and balanced check the strut.

Thanks everyone. I will insist it be checked out, problem located and repaired before I go any further with this possible purchase. After hearing your comments and other centurion owners the boat should be smooth as silk. Thanks for your input!

I'm not sure why "Centurion" keeps coming up? Vibration isn't normal, and nothing that causes it would really be related to the specific brand of the boat.

I have a 04 avalanche,and have no vibration. But when I upgraded to a 4 blade I got a vibration. Needless to say I took off the 4 blade and put on the 3 blade and the vibration went away. Took the prop back and found out the prop shop gave me the wrong pitch,( it was cavitating) exchanged it for a different one and now I am back to smooth running. No V-drive should vibrate. That is a bunch of bull. Do not buy from this dealer, they are lying to you.

We have an 04 Enzo, and have no vibration. We bought ours new in Feb 06.
We did look at the red one at AR Boating, but at that time we were interested in an Avy that they had. Is the boat still "new"? How many hours are on it? I may be wrong, but when we were looking there, I think they had the red one in the shop. There was a solid yellow one on the floor. I'll check with my hubby in the morning about that. He will probably remember better than I do.
Nice folks down there, and the guy who demo'd the Avy with us seemed pretty knowledgeable.

Ok, from what my husband remembers, the red one was in the shop getting some "body work" done to the rear end. Someone had backed it into something else, and there was fiberglass damage. We didn't get a whole lot of information about it, because we weren't looking at the Enzo at that time (too expensive, at that time).
Ask Rob (I think that's the owners name) about it.
In talking with my husband about the vibration, he reminded me that we felt that once, and thought we had hit something underwater. Shut it down, started it back up, and no more problems. We actually were thinking that there was a problem with the Perfect Pass, but haven't had the problem again.
