my problem is that i will throw the OA 180 and lose control of the board, having a sketchy landing. my hand never finds the board usually. this was a trick that used to be money in the bank. now, i just think i throw the OA way too early off the wake. am i supposed to wait on it and stay on axis a quarter into the turn, then throw the board out and try to grab?

basically, what is the tip in going OA properly?

thanks,

Uh. I do OA half cabs with a mute or melon grab and I just try to think of doing a butt out raley. I basically push my but out like a raley but don't let my legs follow. While I do so I push the handle towards the water and back hip with both hands and then reach for the grab. If you do them this way it is easier to stay more compact and get the grab. This basically makes you through the 180 off the wake and then you have the whole rest of the time grab and pull in. I am guessing that you are doing more of a krypt style oa 180 and that will make it hard to grab. That is where only pushing out your butt will make the difference.
