I was close to pulling the trigger on one but one that I wish they would change is the tower/windshield design.

And this of course will mean more $$ and a higher price exponentially. They are seriously pushing the limits. So much for a price point boat.

On the flip side their boats have come a loooooooong way and their wakes are macking. With the new vinyl for 2013 it's hard to discount them. I just hope they stay with the keep it simple method if toggle/ rocker switches and don't go computer LCD style. Something to be said for simple.

I think all the improvements are killing the resale value though. Who's gonna want used when couple k more will get you the upgrades. That is my biggest hang up right now in their boats.

Swatguy. Just consider the fact that, with the increase in yearly prices due to new options, the older boats, which were less originally, are holding their values very well. Just look at what 2009 and 2010 A22's are selling for. Those boats were a lot less than the 2013's.

Exactly what I was thinking. Couldn't you get a decently equipped A22 for 45-50 grand when they first came out? How much is a decently equipped one going for now? 60k?

The prices aren't just increasing due to options. The base MSRP price is increasing before any options are added

All boats are doing that. However, I've been told that the A22 base price increase for '14 is only like 2%.

Which is much better than the other lines Malibu is putting out, that's not bad at all and the normal increase I would expect year to year.

I got my new 2011 A22 for just a tiny bit over $50k, my buddy got his new 2012 A22 for mid-$50's and had dealer add more stuff. Average I was seeing for 2012 A22 was $60-$62k asking price. Like others have mentioned, it makes the guys owning 2010-2011's in a fairly good position to sell later. The A24 is not a rumor, I called on it this week to the same dealer that took the order for the 2014 Vandall. The dealers will have the opportunity to demo the A24 in the near future. Supposedly the demo A24 will have the "small" base motor in it so the dealers can see how it performs with "standard" power.

I guess I am thinking a bit different. Sure it's great for the guys who purchased 50's, but if I am a consumer a new boat loan rate vs a used boat loan will save you the price difference alone in interest. Also why buy the used 10-11 when u can grab a brand spankin new one for few k more with the upgrades. To me the Axis name just doesn't get the attention. While for all us who want a pure wakeboat understand its capabities and value there is no way a used Axis has nearly the looks or market from consumers as the big 3. The name just isn't out there yet. They are in the 60k range all day by me loaded with just the necessities. I guess maybe what's more of an issue iss 60k is now a budget boat .

I've priced out an a24. ~72k with all the options necessary aside from the biggest engine.

The Axis "dillema" is interesting. They're the perfect boat for someone like me. Younger, less financially secure than a 50 YO. When i go out, its to wakeboard, not cruise around the lake. Don't care about "image" associated with a "Luxary" brand boat.

I was at Walloon Lake here in Michigan over the 4th, which is a VERY wealthy lake. Earnest Hemingway had a house on the lake. I launched at the local malibu dealership. I had a bunch of employees including the owner of the marina stop me and chat about my Axis. They haven't sold a SINGLE axis this year, as i understand it. Their clientel has no need for a budget boat like it.

Come on 60 plus K boats are not budget or even close to it. BU should just dump the V line make it Axis and be honest about the boat being a budget boat or for the regular guy.

72k doesn't sound all that high for a 24ft boat. Not many out there cheaper at that size loaded. Compare that to the 24mxz that's in the 100-110k range

I know the dealer here sold a vandal edition of this exact boat for mid 60s this summer

list and sold are often two different numbers. That Vandall had an LS3?

It was actually a pretty sweet VTX with tons of custom stuff done to it. I don't think i would pay that for a VTX, but the guy who bought had some really cool things done to it

Someone got a giant one shoved up in them. They must have saw that buyer coming from a mile away.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Seattle Bu dealer was asking 90k for a fully, fully loaded VTX after freight and prep.

Honestly once you throw in a ls3 and load it up 90k isn't that far fetched for a vtx. The is a high demand boat for people who want to ski too, or have length restrictions on their lake

Just an average of a 6-7% increase every year
